I just.. lost.. all my art....
Yes.. you heard right.. all of my art, every last bit of it, plus the new stuff I was working on.. is LOST. How? I don't have a bloody clue. But it's pissing me off!!
I have all my art on a zip disk, a NEW one at that. I moved them to it after the last disk they were on was going out. So for the past what? 7 months I've bene using the new zip. to hold all my art.
Now tonight.. I slot the zip disk in, and it's displaying the directorys of the last zip I had in before it. (the disk with my site files on it) at first I thought it was the site disk I sliped in.. but nope.. it's my art disk..
It's displaying the first 4 dirs on my site disk, but you can't open them. It keeps saying
f:/(dir) is not accessible
The file or directory is currupted and unreadable.
now that would bug me but this is like "no duh" cause the dir it's displaying don't exist on the disk in the first place. Now I've tried putting in other disks and such into the drive, but my art disk STILL displays the dir's for my site disk..
altho my marine art (that would be under the dir "marine") is opening under the dir "temp" and is displaying fine. that don't make one bit of sense dose it?
Arga, I don't know what to do. I got a lot of shit on this disk, some of it I haven't posted anywhere yet!! Now cause of this I'm screwed.. :(
Arga, if CD's didn't make every file placed on them "read only" I'd put them on a CD! But I can't work on them if they are set to read only! arga.. damnit to hell >.<
Edit: I let my system scan the disk to find out what happend.. and well.. just say it got screwed even worse.. Checking the BOOTEX.log file that formed on my disk, all the files had a
first allocation unit is not valid. The entry will be truncated.

so I now got a new dir on the disk called found.000 that holds 208 .chk files. I don't know what to do with these.. can the files be recoverd from them or should I just delete the whole mess? :(
