I got to see Lassen!!! IN PERSON!!
Today had to be the best day of my life! I've never been so happy! Today we headed out to the Las Vegas strip, heading right for the Caesars Palace casino. Though on are way there driving down the strip, we ended up ended up behind some old dude in this huge car rarely ever going over 10mph in a 30mph area. X.X Took… 30 mins to drive just a short way down the strip thanx to him, a annoying buss that didn't bother to drive a few feet more into a bus lane X.X
Anyways. We were heading to Caesars Palace. The reason being is Christian Riese Lassen of Lassen Art, Hawaii's premier marine artist, has an art Gallery there, and was doing a showing plus unveiling there! HE WAS THEIR IN PERSON!! He was unveiling 5 new masterpieces. Yes they showed the originals! Oh god they were… were… SO LOVLY!!!
Lassen unveiled two of the partings in the front room, and explained what inspired him and how he did some of the detail. Man getting a close look at them, I can't help but wonder how he can blend paint color's so…so… well! It's flawless!! The other three of the painting's were in a back room, but it was VIP only :/ But the Gallery director allowed me access back there to watch the unveiling of them! Hoo man talk about LUCKY! He even let me hang out back there to look at the paintings up close and all the others that were on display. I couldn't believe it! It's a shame they didn't allow camera in the area.. He was sooo close! Lassen walked right by me a number of times, nodded to me, even said 'hello' while walking by, I just about melted!!!
Lassen is my Idol! His works have such meaning to each one, such story's to why there created. I just loved the stay there. At the end Lassen went off to do privet interviews and photo's with those who paid to get their photo token with him. *sigh* man I would have died twice to get that lucky. But this had to be a once in a life time experience just to SEE Lassen in person! And so CLOSE! He was right next to me darn it!! O.O
