i dont even know if this makes any sense.
Versus
We folded hundreds of white
paper squares into hundreds
of white paper cranes
and hung them from trees
with messages
for the population
that did not listen to our cries
of "not in our name, not in our
name" and we called it dona nobis pacem,
--Grant Us Peace
--Give Us Peace
we demanded, we cried
and still they would not listen.
They never listen to our
voices.
At first they were
just for the few hundred,
the first few hundred,
then as the count grew, the hundreds
became thousands
and the white paper cranes
were representing
more than what we intended.
They represented what they
intended.
So we spoke louder
and louder and as the hundreds
became thousands,
our thousands became
millions, we became
millions. We became louder
and our pleas became stronger
as our opposition said
that they were becoming
stronger against their
opposition.
And we gathered and grew
and fought harder
as they fought harder
--we fought
them as they
fought them.
We gathered to fight
them and they fought
because they were told to fight them,
we fought and fight
and still fight their
fight.
We raised our voices
against what they were
for, and they were
for what we are against.
They are against
us and what we are for.
We raised our signs
and our fists to show them
what we were fighting for
and what we were fighting for
was not them. We wanted them
to hear us and to listen to our
voices.
They gathered against
us and held us back
and as we held
our statements above
our heads that said "this
is what a--
--looks like" "this
is not my--" "he is not
my--" "we say fight back"
because they said go back.
We gathered against
them and demanded our
rights back.
