So, just a mini update to my last post. Apparently during the chapel on Thursday, the speaker spoke even more boldly. Don't know what was said exactly, but people were pretty upset. So much so, that one of the administrators on Friday apologized that things weren't handled better.

Now, apparently, some of the people on campus think this speaker was the greatest. I'm not gonna lie, those that have expressed this were black. I understand that I will never understand what it means to be in their shoes, I get that. But I learned an important lesson from Shrek 3 the other night: In the end, the only one standing in your way is you. You want to know what I honestly think and feel when these kind of situations come up? Why is it so easy to continue in the steps of the victim? Yes, there are people who continue in the racist mindset, that's sinful nature for ya.

But the majority of us 'white folk' can't grasp the victim mentality. Now, this is more a generic statement than I'd like, because I know plenty of black people who have gone beyond those society-set boundaries and have really done something with themselves. The big problem, though, isn't mentality, but the welfare state. A good idea, sure, to help people on the down and out, but it should never have been a source of living permanently. That just perpetuates the problem.

Baaaah, I hadn't meant to say this much on the topic! It just happened! I was originally posting simply to blabber on about the fact that I finally was able to access my old hard drive (from my old laptop), and salvage all my writing!

And...wow, maybe not all of it is worth saving. Heh, I did find my old Harry Potter fic with Avalon Grey - an epic fic I was really excited about but then tossed to the way side once the books were done...Don't think it's salveagble.

Also found several TF fics, most of them nothing new. As well as some random writings that occasionally made sense...

It was a fun trip down memory lane!
