So saw this online today from my local news station:
Rep. Clyburn has strong words for Gov. Mark Sanford Now, I fully support Sanford. As any leader we have in this country, he's done...odd things that makes you go 'eh?' But I'm with him on this whole stimulus crap that's going on.
Here's the quote from Clyburn: "The governor of Louisiana expressed opposition. Has the highest African-American population in the country. Governor of Mississippi expressed opposition. The governor of Texas, and the governor of South Carolina. These four governor's represent states that are in the black belt. I was insulted by that," Clyburn said. "All of this was a slap in the face of African-Americans. It had nothing to do with Governor Sanford."
Dude, just woah, what the hell? Just...the hell? Where do you get the idea that that's the intelligent thing to say? Last I checked, the Messiah up there in D.C. didn't promote this as a black-only bill.
Speaking of which, am I the only one pissed off that he expects hard working people like me to bail out people who never had any business owning a home keep them. Thanks to Carter, thanks to Clinton, and now thanks to Obama, we are rewarding failures. America used to be about hard-working people, now they're punished for the sake of those who just aren't as well off.
Owning a house is great, but if there's no chance that you'll ever pay off that mortgage or loan? You have no business getting it. Just really rubs me the wrong way -_-
