I never thought I would say this, but pole dancing looks really interesting. I'm watching one of those cheesy talent shows and three girls just turned up with a pole dancing act. What sold it for me was the lack of overtly tacky sexual moves - sure it was sexy, but not in-your-face hi I'm a skank sort of sexy. They didn't play up the "teehee I'm a girl and I'm going doing to do something sexy for you to perve on" either, which scored major points with me.
It interested me enough to look up a few websites, and it turns out I can do a class for about $13 a week, and "any fitness levels" are looked after. I'm intruiged.
As someone was previously pretty anti-pole dancing, I can't believe how interesting it seems to me right now. To the point of being tempted to try it out... Maybe...
If I tried it out, maybe I'd meet new people. I am seriously lacking in friends, and would like to meet some new people. And the idea of a tacky activity for sleazy guys' attentions being turned into a positive, female sport... I like it.
Mind you, I did just see a photo on one of these sites of a really scantily clad chick wriggling her backside off a pole in front of what looks like a 6 year old girl. Hmm. Maybe I'll go back to being a prude :P.
I am loving these talent shows, though. Sure they're cheesy, but it's pretty inspiring to see all these people getting out there and forming groups and friendships, doing acts and singing and whatever else comes to mind... I especially like the "different" acts, like the little kids doing their own comedy routines and something... Some of them are shocking and awful, but when you see a good one, it's so inspiring. :)
