Summary: Wataru confronts Taiga without Nago to try to explain that there has been Treason. Bishop shows up, but is it for better or worse?
Wataru had a new resolve. He had to speak with Taiga and alone. He hadn't brought Nago with him and he just prayed that Mio wasn't around. Not even Bishop could be around.
Bishop. He had been the cause of it all. He had been the one to start what the Elders had called the War of Kings. Royal blood had already been shed in this fight for the throne. No more. No more would be shed.
He made his way to his half-brother's workplace. He had been there before so he knew his way. He was sure that his security guards would be on high alert for him, so he had to in disguise and unarmed. As it was he wouldn't be able to fight because he was weak from not feeding in a while, which caused his change to drain him more than usual.
He was in the best position - well, so to speak - to talk with Taiga.
Approaching the front doors of Taiga's business, he took a deep breath. He nervously opened the door and went in to the front desk. However he didn't even have to go that far. He was stopped only yards from the front doors.
By Taiga himself.
"You can't hide from me," the first King of the current generation uttered, "Come with me. And take off that disguise. I would have found you no matter what you did to try and hide."
Nodding, Wataru could only follow behind his brother. He received glares and growls from many of the King's fangire workers. They all knew who he was as he removed the sunglasses, hat, one glove and the lightish trench that he wore. He felt as though he had to keep his guard up as long as he was here. No one liked him at Taiga's business and they let the young Kurenai know it well.
As soon as they went into his spacious office, Taiga closed the door, locking it behind him.
"Wataru, why are you here?" he demanded, his back still turned to Wataru, "I could easily kill you where you stand. Why do you show yourself to me?"
Fear ran through Wataru's veins. He only had one chance to do this. If he messed up... Well, he didn't want to think of that right now. He didn't like the thought. He stood straighter than he had moments before, taking in a deep breath. His exterior betrayed his inner fear.
"Taiga-kun, I want peace between us," he spoke solidly and firmly.
The person in question sighed, turning toward his brother. He gazed at him collectedly. Silence filled the room as he did so. His brother was smarter than he looked. It was almost like he always had been. After all he had found friendship in a fangire or two, from what Bishop had informed him - well other than himself and Mio. And as Wataru had used Kiva not only had be been losing his human blood little by little, but he gained more of his fangire heritage. However there was one small problem.
"Why should I listen to an illegitimate King?"
Wataru knew it was coming, but that didn't make him flinch any less. He had known and was ready to answer. Ever since he had spoken with some kind and well-knowing fangire - in private of course since Nago would have thrown a fit - he known the answer to this question. He had phrased it many different ways, but only one would allow him to continue to live so he could finish what he had to say.
"Because it's not me who committed the treason against you. You know I would never do that."
"Then who did?"
"Bishop."
Taiga stood there in silence for a moment. His eyes were wide for a split second before they squinted slightly. He crossed his arms as he looked as his brother. He knew something was wrong, but couldn't quite place it. What was wrong that was setting off alarms in his mind?
"Quite an accusation," he finally uttered after about ten minutes of silence, "What's your reason?"
"He's willingly allowing the spilling of royal blood."
"No he's not." Taiga shook his head, consciously denying his brother. He had to agree that Bishop was in the wrong, but he wanted to be sure that Wataru knew what grounds correctly.
"Yes he is! He started our fighting against each other! He cares more of my death than the succession of the bloodline!"
Wataru covered his mouth after his outburst. He knew he had gone too far, but had to be said. In fangire law - in any law - the spilling of royal blood was treason. For fangire, the punishment was anywhere from banishment to death. The higher the rank of tretchery the more severe the punishment.
In Bishop's case, he would meet a shattering death.
"Wataru-kun..."
"So the Kings meet in such a way that would be considered a treason to the throne."
Wataru froze at the voice. Not here... Not now... Taiga's eyes narrowed. Damned teleporation ability. Of course he would be able to get in. Even he should have remembered and he was King.
"Bishop... he speaks the truth, doesn't he?" the first King growled, turning toward the priestly dressed man, "You do care more about the death of a royal - my own flesh and blood - over the bloodline's succession."
"Do you really think I'm that easy to figure out? Of course I-"
"SILENCE, BISHOP! NO MORE LIES!" Taiga roared. His King's aura filled the room, deep blues and violets throbbing angrily. It was too much for the second King. Wataru was growing weaker under the pressure of his brother's strength.
"But King... Surely you know what he's done."
"I don't care. He's my brother and my blood. You have committed the sin of treason against the royal bloodlines of Nobori and Kurenai."
Wataru straightened as much as he could. He would be the start of a new royal bloodline? If only because of his last name? He was honored... to be concidered... for the start... Oh, why was the world spinning?
"My King-"
"Your punishment is death by human shattering!"
Aiming his aura at the traitor, it took no more than half a second for Taiga to shatter the treasonous Bishop. It took only a single pulse of his King's aura, his King's Mark, to destroy the false priest. That would be the end of that man that caused all the troubles in the world for him, his Queen and his brother. They would never see him again.
"There... It's done. I knew he caused trouble, but now tha-"
Taiga stopped as soon as he heard a thud against the ground. He spun around and gasped. Wataru lay on the ground, eyes closed and face relaxed. It seemed that he was at peace.
"Wataru!"
He hurried over to his brother and knelt down beside him. Checking for a pulse and other things, the King was able to release a sigh of relief. The second King was only asleep. It appeared he had been low on energy. As his older brother, Taiga would take care of him until he would be strong.
