The twilight faded in demise,
Around an ivory full moon framed
Within branches of century ringlet.
The cricket in my ear softly hummed
In resonance to laughter dyed scarlet.
The reeds swayed with a faraway kite.
Fiery lanterns rippled in silence
With a drop of silken petal;
Perfuming the smeared smoke,
The blossom danced across the city
To the beats of distant taiko drums.
