Yet another fail!

I still suck at keeping up with this blog this semester. Things didn't get better, (as far as me updating more) haha.

Um, well I can't really remember that far back what's happened haha.
I'm going to a Kat Tun concert in a few weeks, about a week before I come home. It's exciting.

Other than that, I guess I have been keeping pretty busy. Soon after I posted my last long, public blog, I got pretty sick. I went to the doctor and he said it was allergies but he put me on some pretty high dosages of medicines that knocked me out. I became really weak after that because I was sleeping like a cat- and I was weak for quite a while after that too. Emily said that I lost a lot of weight because it also killed my appetite, but Emily usually made me eat even if I didn't want to.

After I started to get better, Kunitake-san emailed me and we chatted for a while. He wanted to do language exchange, which I feel like is more for my benefit than his. Anyways, we set up a date to meet and started doing that too. He's gotten to the point that if I send him an email in English he sends me one back in Japanese telling me to use Japanese. So, basically, depending on if our schedules... we generally meet on Monday nights for about an hour and a half and talk about random things. Originally it was supposed to be half English and half Japanese but recently he's been shying away from English and making me practice Japanese more. -_-; I'm not complaining, but it's not equal this way.

And then a few weeks after that, Chrys and I had lunch with Kunitake-san and Makoto after practice. Makoto is going to England next semester for study abroad, and after we ate lunch I was talking to him and I said that if he wanted practice that he could practice with me. I don't think that he thought I was serious so after we parted ways I emailed him and told him that it was a serious offer and that if he was free and wanted to practice to let me know. So, soon after that we set up to meet during lunch (we have conflicting off periods... all of them.) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. And honestly, Makoto is AMAZING at English. He's just afraid to speak... but in the two and a half weeks that we were able to meet I can see improvement. :) But generally, since he saves us seats when I get there he says 「じゃ、 まず日本語!」 ("Okay, first, Japanese!") because part of the agreement (?) was that we do half and half much like what I do with Kunitake-san. So, if I am not careful... I spend most of my lunch not helping him practice English. -_-;;

A lot of the time that I talked to Kunitake-san he's asked me what I want to do in Japan before I leave, and I feel like he's taken it upon himself to take us (exchange students) to do things before we leave. He took us (me, karate Emily, Chrys, Oo-kun and Keigo) to Tsukiji market a few weeks ago, the day before the karate tournament. It was fun but I am sure that it is totally different when it's full of the crazy fish-bidding that it is known for.

The karate tournament was so, so fun. Omura-san, Takeda-san and "Totoro"-san all got awards and Sana got something like an honorable mention. (I don't know Totoro-san's name, and when Chrys asked Makoto and Kunitake-san tonight what it was, Makoto responded with "Totoro" so that's what I am using. He kind of looks like Totoro haha.) Actually, Omura-san got two first place prizes and I decided that day that if I were a male I would want to be him. He's just amazing at karate and I wish that I could be like that. :P When he fights, he's probably the kind of person that the Chinese movie makers saw and decided to make their fighters fly. Takeda-san got second place in under-belt sparring which was cool too because I think that was his first time. :)

Um, after that we went out to eat as per usual. I ... got stuck with Emily, Ou-kun and Keigo. Originally, Kunitake-san was with us too but he deserted us to go talk about the fights with the others. Ou... is ridiculous. At first he was just being his usual self, saying ridiculous things- he said that he loves curry so he's Indian and from there on out everything that we asked for was "curry." But it got weirder and weirder, and he wasn't even drinking. To begin with, Emily and I have been super annoyed at males as of late, so we have kept saying "stupid boys making stupid things stupider." With that, she asked Ou why boys are so stupid. This is roughly what was said.
"Well, that's a very good question and I don't know because I am a woman."

At that, Emily and I were like, EHHH? Since when?

"Two weeks ago, I cut them off myself."

So that's why he can still go in the men's locker room...
Oh but wait, he gets weirder. A little later, he somehow turned the conversation to tell us that he was Santa Claus. He started to sing "Jingle bells" but all he knows is the words "Jingle bells." Emily kept asking him what came after that, and he just kept answering "jingle bells." Then, she asked him what the heck kind of Santa Claus he was if he couldn't sing Jingle Bells.

"No problem, because I just take out a gun and point it at the kids to make them sing it!" Complete with gestures, mind you. ...and he got worse.
The conversation then turned to Emily asking him how he accomplishes getting all the presents all over the world. He mentioned that he couldn't get into her house last year because she locked the door and to make sure to leave it open.

Then, for some reason she asked about his parents.
"I don't have them."

Again, we were dumbfounded.

"Oh, well I split from an amoeba."
He then explained that there are 7 million of him that split from that amoeba and that's how he delivers all the presents to the kids.

The whole world makes sense now.
I don't get how that guy doesn't get tired making up all these ridiculous things. I never believe anything that he tells me- I haven't since the day that he told me that Omura-san's dad was a famous okonomiyaki-chef and then Omura-san said "Don't believe him, he is supaa supaa liaa." Haha. If he tells me anything, anything at all I usually double check with Takeda-san. :P

That same night, Emily tried to convince Nishi-san that drinking from the same glass as anyone is the same as kissing them. I tried to counter that because right before she said that I had Watanabe-san try my ...icky ume shu soda, to prove to him that it tasted like cough syrup but she wouldn't let me at all. X_X

Hm, other than that I think that I have been hanging out with karate Emily a lot.  I introduced her to Emily and she knows Chrys and they get along which makes things all the better.  We have a lot of ridiculous conversations about ridiculous things and it's all fun.  Sachiko has been coming to practice more often too, and that's fun too because she's been getting sillier and sillier.  On Thursday she was really goofy, doing anything she could to get us to laugh.  At first it was jumping in front of us as we played before practice and then during kata she came up and started winking at me.  When I started to laugh at her she acted like she hadn't done anything out of the ordinary and I was the crazy... but THEN she decided that winking wasn't enough and that she needed to bat her eyes.  After a while, Emily told her to go try Chrys because Emily and I have boyfriends so she can't seduce us. (Blatant lie, by the way.  When Sachiko found out that we don't have boyfriends she said "Why no boy friend?  So cute," while making wild gestures to me. haha.)

Ah that reminds me, on Wednesday I attended a thing that CIEE held called "Life After Study Abroad" which was pretty misleading because it turned out to all be about the JET program.  Even though I am not that interested in that I got the information anyway. :/  It doesn't hurt to have the information I guess.

OH I FORGOT about this too.  So, last Saturday we had an end of the semester party for karate (already, yes. So soon...) but before that at practice they decided to do fighting.  I don't know how or why they decided to do this but it ended up being all of the guys versus Omura-san, and then after he was finished against Makoto.  Each match was about 1:30 long, and at the end of his Omura-san just completely collapsed because he fought like 10 plus people.  He's insane, insane I tell you!  Although this is the guy that smiles like a maniac while he's running.  Anyways, so after Omura-san collapsed on the side lines Makoto went.  Makoto is also crazy by the way.  He is really obsessed with karate and he always looks like he's having the time of his life during practice.  Anyways, everything was going fine for him and he was doing really well.

THEN! he got into the ring with an OB (I have no idea what that stands for still, but it's someone who has graduated from college) who I have only seen a few times.  Everything was going okay until this guy threw a SIDE KICK at Makoto.  He got hit in THE JAW and he was out cold on the ground in the next second.  It was terrifying, we all just stopped for a moment and then in the next everyone had run to where he fell.  They pulled his head gear off and he was still out (I think total he was only out for a minute.)  He came to, and tried to sit up but all the people around him pushed him back down.  Murakami-shihan had the freshmen go get Japanese version of Gatorade from upstairs and they ended up grabbing Makoto by the legs and dragging him off the floor so we could bow out without moving him and his neck.  He tried again to get up after that and got pushed down once more, and was made to stay like that for a while.

But he still came to the party and seemed okay.  He said that he couldn't remember most of the past week though... O_O  Apparently he's regained his memory totally, but he didn't participate in practice tonight because his head still hurts.  When I spoke to him on Monday night I asked him about it and he said that it still hurt but he was fine.  I hope that he really is fine.  -__-;

The party was fun for the most part I guess.  I got up to go to the restroom one time and Saito-shihan was sitting with Jin and Takahiro mentioned me and English and teaching.  I am assuming that Makoto and Kunitake-san told him that I practice English with them but I had no idea what was going on.  I stood there looking silly, trying to figure it out but I couldn't because all that was going on was Jin giggling and smiling sheepishly like he does and Takahiro nodding.  Then Saito-shihan said something like "Please teach them English."  When I got it, I nodded and said  「よろしく」 (best way to translate that is "please take care of me." o_o)

If they want help all they have to do is ask me :P
After that I dragged Takeda-san over to talk to me, because we hadn't talked in forever and it makes me feel like he hates me. :(
And then we finished.  I also got dragged to another bar by Kunitake-san along with Emily, Chrys, Makoto and Dmitry.  Kunitake-san ordered them tequilla? I think.  Anyways he got me something without alcohol because I had my one for the night.  After the drinks came, I tried that tequilla stuff and it was really, really gross.  Kunitake-san was really tipsy even though he keeps telling me that he wasn't drunk and apparently he remembers everything. o_o  From Chrys being sad over stupid boy to Chrys smacking her head on the wall due to her movements when speaking... everything.  We also attempted to get Makoto to speak in English but that didn't work.

That night Chrys spent the night with me in the dorm and I have to say that these beds are much to small for two people... but the floor is hard too so we put up with it. :(

These next weeks are going to suck... pretty much!  I have three projects this week alone... ugh it really sucks.  Tomorrow... today, I will meet with two different groups.  Monday after class I will probably meet with another group before I meet with Kunitake-san for conversation practice.  By the way!  Tonight I sucked at speaking and listening but my speaking has improved I think since I started doing this with those two guys.  My Japanese teacher complimented me on it... I had to explain to her why I bombed my test.  BUT I did it all in Japanese and she understood (I had an unbelievable amount of work for other classes to do the days preceding that test) and I can drop that test score so no big deal.

But, I have going to the beach to look forward to.  As I mentioned before, Kunitake-san has taken it upon himself to get things that I want to do before I leave done.  Since I have not REALLY been to the beach and swam in the ocean we're going to do that.  Thankfully my Japanese fiction class is canceled that day so I don't have to worry about that.  I don't know for sure who else will be going with us but I know that Chrys, Emily, Bastian and I are going.  I wonder who else...

We're also going to see fireworks.  Chrys and I are going twice which is pretty exciting.

And then there is finals.  Ugh.

And I think that I have talked enough.
