So last week I went on vacation up to Shuswap Lake with
i_am_krazy and my mom. I had a blast. We went to this mobile home gated park (not to be confused with RV homes plz) and though we were "roughing it" in a sense, we were definitely doing so in luxury. :D
Then a couple days ago, my Oma had a stroke. She's fine now, and was only in the hospital one night for observation, but my mom decided to go over there (there being Vancouver Island, where she and Opa live) for a few days. She's gonna be back tomorrow, and I'm glad for it, because I have discovered that if left to my own devices, I'm likely not to feed myself until 10 o'clock at night lol.
(Also, just so y'all get an idea of my cooking skillz, I exploded one of two hot dogs in the microwave today. OTL)
I'm going to be pretty M.I.A. over the summer because Anime Evolution, the local convention, is coming up in August, and I need to spend as much free time sewing as possible. Especially seeing as I've actually found myself with more than one cosplay to make this year hahahaha OTL. We'll see how it goes. I'm really excited though because one of those cosplays? Hitomi Kanzaki from Escaflowne, my favourite anime series of all time. It's with a big group, too, and they're all great cosplayers so it's going to be awesome. There's also a Spice GIrl cosplay, but I'm not sure anymore which one I'm doing atm lol, so I'll possibly bring that up later.
Also, every Thursday and Saturday night for the last three weeks of July I'll be preforming (re: singing) in a showcase my acting and singing teacher is doing. It's called 'Summer Nights' and it's full of monologues, short scenes and songs. I was going to do a monologue as well, but considering the first show is on the 9th and she just asked me to do this two days ago, I decided I wouldn't have enough time. So the two songs I'll be preforming are People from Funny Girl and Big Spender from Sweet Charity. (Go look 'em up; they're both great songs and everybody knows and loves "Hey Big Spender~!!")
And a big WELCOME~ to
valdrein who has finally made her way over here after many years of being every where else. Let me know if you need anything hon! (or if you want a custom LJ layout! I made mine 8'D)
Oh! One thing I want to add: I don't know if any of you have f-listers have been watching any of the new summer shows on T.V., but The Good Guys is the craziest, most awesome show I have seen in a long time. It's an instant classic; I fell in love with it within the first three minutes of watching it. I was honestly hooked that fast. If anybody needs something to watch this summer, or has Monday nights free, you need to watch this show. Smart comedy has never been done more right.
And if that wasn't enough reason, then you've gotta watch it for the 'Stache. There hasn't been a baby like this since Magnum P.I.
