(Slowly) Returning

Apr 24, 2023 09:08

So, it's been a while. I've meant to post earlier, but life got in the way. I know, easy to say. In the last 7 years my mom passed away, and the world actually ended. No, srsly, she passed on Christmas Day 2019, and months later we were in a pandemic. It's slight now, but the world has changed. I spent all of 2020 living by myself and with the 2 cats that previously belonged to my mom, and my Mema (who passed 2016. July 3rd).

I was stressing all of 2016 to keep us afloat, find a steady job and dealing with Mema's assets, so that was great.

Definitely nothing compared to 2020, but a close second. My cat, Niji, also passed away 2019 as well, at 21yo. I miss that opera singer, and outside of being a cat lady to a half dozen strays at my old apartment, I've contented myself with my inherited furry menaces.

In the last two years I've moved twice, both times while living with my nakama-chama who just bought her first house. I am slowly getting back into writing, but with my laptop giving me nearing the grave warnings even that has stalled.

So, that's what has been happening since my last post. I've actually managed to get somewhere on chapter 1 for Physician, Heal Thyself (my previous post) and then zoomed into a brick wall. I've developed a love of webtoons and Korean light novels since 2020, and have dabbled in fanfics for them as well. I'll post the drabble/one-shot for Lout of Count's Family I made earlier this year in a separate post. I do plan to continue working on PHT, because I've written enough little scenes to try to put together, but I need to rekindle my interest and figure out where it will go.

Just remember, all... Keep on moving forward; its the only direction worth following.
