Back and There Again
Well, I'm back from my work in Mississippi. I had a LOT of fun. We finished 14 units, and we weren't even very pressed for time at the end (rare among archaeological digs).
Tomorrow I'm going on a vacation with Dad, brother, and Jessica to St. Augustine. Should be fun. Got to finish my prospectus soon, though, so I can get to data collection during the fall.
Also, FUTURAMA! I only got to see the premier episode(s) before I left, and I thought they were pretty good, but I wasn't overly impressed. I think I missed 3 or 4, so I don't know how they all are. But I got to catch up on the most recent one the other night: The Late Phillip J. Fry, in which Fry, Bender, and Farnsworth use a time machine that can only travel forward. It was an absolutely fantastic episode, and has me that much more excited about the new ones. They really played the new Fry/Leela thing as perfectly as they could have - they didn't go back on the relationship they started in the movies, but they also treated it both realistically and with humor, something a lot of shows can't manage to do once two protagonists start a relationship. I look forward to seeing more.
