J Rock Meme Day 11
The internet has been giving me lots of trouble.
So here's a quick one just in case it crashes again.
Day 11: Who is your favourite J Rock vocalist?
This guy!
This might sound paradoxical but Satoshi from Giru is my favourite vocalist even though Girugamesh is not my favourite J Rock Band.
I guess I don't take as strongly to Giru as a whole (don't get me wrong, I love them still!), but that does not change the fact that Satoshi's mastery of vocal finesse is breathtaking.
I especially love the way he sings in Break Down. Has a rocker's scream ever been so smoothly executed? Powerful yet without the throat-mangling exertion of emo screamers?
Or has a ballad ever wrenched so much emotion without being theatrical?
I really, really want to see Giru live.
I know that in terms of performing outside Japan, they have been to Europe many times. When will they come here :-S?
