Okay, Camping was so much fun.
Porteau Cove: the campsites are not really campsites, but tent pads (i.e. really really small and not very wooded). I had no place to hang my hammock from, or any room for a gear tent but despite that we had a lot of fun.
Friday- Locked myself and nina out of the car on the way back to the campground after picking her up from work. Criminey I hate driving downtown. We cheated that first night by going out for food (KFC) in Squamish, which served this nasty congealed poutine. After setting up the "fire in a bucket" citrinella candle, we played a drinking game called "I never". If you haven't played this game it's a lot of fun. 1st person says something that they've (supposedly) never have done "I've never streaked", then all the people that have streaked have to take a shot (we did a third of ta shot for a longer game). Interesting, very interesting game.
Saturday- Tried to find a secret beach, got lost so we went to whistler, went bungee jumping along the way. Yes you heard me. Bungee jumping. 160ft drop over a river, I was freaked, hugging the bridge, acting like I'd never see Joy again. But it was a lot of fun, the sensation of free falling. I swore. Nina and Joy went twice and got t-shirts. PLayed Cranium in the dark (around this latern style flashlight called the LUMINATOR). Carly kept calling out "Allie McBeal Baby" to whatever Nina did for charades.
Sunday- Went to beach again, chitchatted with two people that manage a property in eastside vancouver, boy they had some interesting stories about the tenants. Also played friends trivia game I think...(I'm terrible at it, didn't even get to cross off one item). I was either tonight or last night that Nina made some sort of peach compote. Rum, brown sugar, and peaches...very very good stuff.
Monday- Played Bocche Ball, went to a lake that was recommended by the two property managers. Couldn't findthe tire swings. I was mostly pouting at the time (Joy wasn't feeling up to it, so she was back at the campsite) and Nina said something along the lines of "Oh get over it, you're just not coming in (the cold water) becuase your two-piece [bathing suit] girlfriend isn't here!" (and I had reason to be pouty, she looks good in a two-piece). So on our way back to the campsite I got to be heroic by bringing Joy poutine! This was our last night so we had the fondue and Melons tonight.
Tuesday- We mostly just packed up, and the saw a movie (Accepted) later that night. I rather liked it, very funny.
And this concludes your Clinton Information Broadcast!
