I'm a big fan of holiday fic, so this is a treat.

I really enjoyed the list scene, each one writing what they loved about their mate. Very well done. Thanks.

Wow, that was fast! :)

Thank you! The list is one of my favorite parts, too; it was great fun to write. I picture it as the guys indirectly helping each other with their respective relationships, and also a way for the two of them to have a heart-to-heart without having to directly, omg, do the sharing thing. And I'm glad you enjoyed the holiday dinner. :)

I like the list scene too, and the description of Carol's dinner made me hungry even though I just ate lunch a couple of hours ago. *g*

*BG, my family doesn't celebrate Christmas this way, so I had to look up what they might possibly eat. Glad it appealed to you! ;) Thanks!

This feels so much like life, you know? The scene where they are sitting at the kitchen table, writing their lists... that's beautiful. Because it's so heartfelt and not at all corny, just real. Like, all the dumb shit we like about people, or the stuff that doesn't make any sense.
And this part, more than all the others, really made me believe, that Duck and Buddy really aren't all that different (and I don't mean that in the way: you wrote it in a plausible fashion; but as in: it crept up on me, that yeah, they are kindred spirits)

Yeah, the lists was one of the really interesting things to write. Normally you're spending all your time noticing the things about another person that bug you about them, but once you write down all the things you love about them and maybe didn't even realize you loved, maybe you remember why you love that person. :) It was also a way for Buddy and Duck to connect. They can talk about mushy things and share their lives and feelings w/o being sappy or overt about it ( ... )

You know, I did a few of those 'lists of a hundred' myself (not concerning other people, though) and the funny thing is, after the initial bit you can really go on forever. And I think Duck, especially, might be a person who needs the help of pen and paper sometimes to, I don't know, find the right words, maybe ( ... )

the reason we all like to think so well of others, is because we are all afraid for ourselves What a good point. :)

Re: Looking Forward
I love that you wrote the scene where they met at the WatchYou know, I completely forgot that I mentioned that in Looking Forward! Thanks for pointing that out ( ... )
