LJ is a fine blogging service. it's not your typical blogging service. it's got things that aren't part of your standard feature set and it may even lack things that are part of your standard feature set.
LJ is also a community. which is not a blogging service. but it has blog elements.

PS: Digg seems to have Friends Page. Here's yours. They even use the /users/ and /profile/ directories. One could argue that you're using a possibly modified version of the livejournal base code.
