Because all three of us were in the same place for the last time until January, Maria and I did an early holiday gift exchange with K this weekend. I gave K a handmade wooden puzzle I'd gotten at the Vandalia Gathering way back in May + a beautifully illustrated book of Aesop's Fables. And I gave K her present from Grandma Rena and Grandpa Marty (my grandparents), a lovely super-soft teddy bear that K immediately named Edward Bear (props to those who get the literary allusion).
And then Maria brought forth her presents for me and K. This had been a top-secret project of hers (with her mother's aid) for the last week.
She had sewed me and K matching aprons. Personalized matching aprons.
I have not the words for how awesome and endearing I find this.
It did not occur to the J-Man of Very Little Brain to take a shot of me and K in them, but here they are full size:
