Repairs
I finally have my e-mail working again. For the past week, I have been able to receive but not to sent e-mail from my principal addresses. Just another glitch in Comcast.
So this morning a lovely man came out and fixed the e-mail with a stroke. While I had him here, I had him run diagnostics on both iMacs (he is an Apple expert.) All is well. He is expensive but worth it. It is a pleasure to watch his fingers dance over the keyboard.
I have had to lay aside A Storm of Swords for a little while. Yesterday, I ran across a scene which horrified me with its unexpected cruelty and the follow-up descriptions. I was braced for one thing but not what happened. As a result, I was sickened and appalled. I can understand violence with a purpose, but not simply for the sake of violence and there was no need to detail what followed. I shall continue to read after a while of callousing, in the meantime I have finished Plotz's The Good Book and am reading poetry to compose my soul. I do so very much loathe vandalism.
