Due to your high praise of this book, I'm going to request it from my local library. I need to immerse myself in a good book right now.

One warning about this book, it is not easy to get into. Give yourself some time and slide in. There is an appendix to help you keep track of the actors and to which side they belong. I am eager to get going on volume two but know better than to eat too much rich stuff at once, whether is is pastries or literature. ;)

I am sure I've read something by this author, albeit many many years ago. The cover looks very familiar. Did it take place in New York/Long Island? Or am I thinking of another book?

The book I just finished takes place in a mythical world very like medieval England. I am a new-comer to Martin's work (this is the first thing of his I have read), so he may well have written a fantasy set in NY. Lord knows, he has written a wagon-load of books. Bibliophile over at GR might know; she is the one who led me to this one.

How are the cats progressing? Any blood shed yet?

Hmm, perhaps its not the same author it's been so long since I've read the one I'm thinking of although the cover is so similar.

Cats are making some progress (I think). Minor tussles and then back into their respective corners. Tater does seem to think of Misfit as his favorite plaything though to chase about at his pleasure. Missy is not amused.....
