Nattering

There is a strange sense of time out of joint these days. Since the night of November 4, it is as though the clock has been turned back to September 11, 2001 and the civilized world is on our side again. It is odd to hear a French minister express the wish to have a taste of being American. I wonder if Obama is agile enough to take advantage of this do-over.

Finally a week coming up without the need to go up to the Piedmont complex and physically visit a doctor. Finally. All I have this time is the telephone interview of my device with the machine in Cook's office. I am relieved and grateful for the hiatus, especially since the week of Nov. 24 is another heavy week. I am bloody tired of all of this.

It is cold today with freeze warning for tomorrow night. I used to be able to tolerate the cold but lately I am unable to get warm so I stand in the shower under steaming water in an effort to heat my core. I am wrapped in a long flannel gown with a fleece robe over it and still shivering. Bah!

I cannot decide if I want Hillary to take the SoS job or not. I am uneasy about her moving to a position where she can be easily dismissed from her post. My choice for her would be the Supreme Court. She has a first-class brain and would bring a welcome perspective to the bench. Thank goodness, this is not my choice.

I am still working on the story I started the first week of June. It is complex and difficult to see through. One of these days...
