Title: Tenju ~天授~
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Pairings: Yukimura x Yanagi. Sanada x Yanagi.
Summary: AU. Alternative version of Hana no Bokutachi. His was not the only life Kami-sama had blessed him with. MPreg.

I planned this out during my OB/Newborn Nursery rotation of clinical last semester. I had really wanted to write this.
It was really kind of ironic. I am not usually into MPreg stories (they are kind of on my avoid list, actually), just like I am not really attached to children. But, that rotation opened my heart to new things. I never knew babies could be so cute~ Just like, I did not know writing MPreg could be such an interesting experience.
Unfortunately, though, I do not have enough determination to complete this...
So, this is just the rough, unfinished outline.

WARNINGS: MPREG (Please, if you don't know what this is, do not read this). And some surprises...
"Tenju" means "God sent from Heaven." It is originally the name of a matcha produced by Koyamaen. It is supposed to be really good (being that it is their highest grade matcha).
Begins from when Yukimura's father dies
-Yuki's dad tells him to make peace with Seishun, to make peace with Tezuka Kunimitsu
-"You two must work together. Now is not the time to start a civil war in this country. Bloodshed will only result in further bloodshed."
-Yuki: obeys; takes time to discuss things with Tezuka (about the future of Japan, etc)
-reaches agreement with Tezuka to open country to bring in Westerners. Soldiers will be trained to use rifles and cannons, but as a back up, they will also be trained to use swords (samurai will teach them how to use)
-one day, Yuki arrives back from royal council: Sana Yana waiting outside for him
-Yuki: sighs first
-Sana Yana: thought the problem was serious
-Yuki: smiles brightly
-Sana Yana: gets that the problem is solved and smiles
-it was spring again. just as Yuki thought he had some to relax and tour the streets once again with Renji and Sana...
-Clan's spring celebration
-Yuki Yana sat on veranda to drink sake and look at cherry blossoms in the moonlight
-remembering the past, talk
-ends up intoxicated
-smut
-clan elder: advised Yuki to get married soon
-Yuki: "May I ask what the rush is?"
-elder: sighs, explains that especially because they are samurai, it is hard to predict when their lives will end
-"When you go, who will be left to take care of this clan?"
-Yuki: comforted elder and told him not to worry about such things, but secretly worries
-Yuki soon tells Yana about the problem of bearing an heir
-Yana: "I see..."
-Yuki: (sighs) (looks at Renji and smiles mischievously) "If only you were a woman..."
-Yana: (reacts funnily to Yuki's words) (turns away) "...Unfortunately... I am not..."
-Yuki: (thought the other was mad) (goes to hug the other from behind) "Don't worry, Renji... I'll think of something... I'll think of something..."
-Yet, he did not know. The solution was not one that he had in mind...
YANA POV
(gets pregnant after the night of spring celebration)
It all began on a day like any other day.
Or so he thought.
Ever though Seiichi had just made a peaceful compromise with Tezuka Kunimitsu, he had still been doubtful of their settlement. Renji would not believe that everything has settled unless he looks into his prophecy.
-noticed that things started going strangely when he opened his eyes, and noticed that he cannot see a thing in the future. All he saw was the horizon in which he stared at.
-a month later, starts feeling fatigue,
-dry gag once during rest on veranda
-Sana: (passing by, sees, runs over to him)
-Sana: "Renji! Are you hurt?" (holds him by shoulders)
-Yana: (calmly straightens and reaches into kimono for handkerchief) (wipes his mouth) "No, I am fine."
-It was the truth. He was not hurt. He was just ill.
-Sana: (looks at his face) (Yana: He must have observed his paleness.) "But you do not look well. I will go and summon the doctor." (gets up to leave)
-Yana: (stops him and pulls at the sleeve of his kimono)
-"It is unnecessary, Genichirou. It will pass soon enough."
-Sana: (did not look convinced) "You are sure?"
-Yana: (smiles weakly) "Aa." (felt dizziness coming back, so rests head against the other's shoulder) (felt the other stiffen. Yana knew that the other was shied away from physical contact with others)
-"Sorry, Genichirou. Just allow me a moment." (the other relaxed)
-afterwards, he caught his breath and withdrew from the other.
-"Thank you."
-Sana: (still looks unconvinced) "You are still unwell. It is better if you let the doctor examine you."
-Yana: (shakes head) "I am fine." He reassured the other once more. "There is no need to trouble the doctor. And please, do not disturb Seiichi about this petty matter, either."
-Sana agreed. Of course, that was after he reassured him repeatedly.
-Yana: becomes more silent, b/c hard to control emotions
-'Had he become a woman...? '
-He remembered his sister telling him a long time ago, when she was still alive. "You know, there is not much of a difference between a man and a woman."
-smirks. perhaps that was so.
-Yana: hides from Yuki
-belly gets larger and larger day by day
-Yuki: senses something wrong with Yana; asks him about it
-Yana: denies, and avoids him by walking away
-Yuki: catches up to Yana
-Yana: "It is a small matter..." (gets dizzy and faints)
-Yana: (when he wakes up, he peered at Yuki through the tiny cracks of his eyes
-remains silent b/c he knows Yuki's doctor must have told him everything
-Yuki: "How long were you planning on keep such a thing from me?" (admonished sternly)
-Yana: (turns away) "If I could not believe such a thing, then I do not expect you to believe such a thing as well."
-Yuki: (sighs)"But, if you believe it now, that means, I would believe it too." (takes his hand to get his attention) "Or, are you still in denial?"
-Yana: (turns to look him slowly) If there was anyone who he could have an argument with for a long time, it was Seiichi.
-"It is an undeniable fact now."
-Yuki: (nods and smiles) "And if it really is a fact, then there is no believing or not believing. THere is only accepting."
-Yana: (slowly rose from bed, turning so that he sat kneeling before him, face to face) "You will accept this?" (eyes opening slowly to look at the other, observe the other's face carefully) "You do not think this is improper, or abnormal?"
-Yuki: (noticed the other's mesmerizing amber eyes) (reached out to place hand on the other's cheek)
-"I will not reject a life that I have created with another... Especially when I have created it with someone I cherish. Do you understand?"
-Yana: (sees that Yuki's eyes only reflected sincerity) (nods) (closes his eyes)
-He saw what he needed to see. He saw what he wanted to see.
-Yuki: "And I must ask you, Renji. When you opened your eyes just now, did the future you see prove the truth of my words?"
-Yana: (smiles sadly) "Sorry, Seiichi. That was another secret I kept from you." (opens his eyes) "When I open my eyes now, I can no longer see into your future. Or, into anyone else's future, in that case."
-Yuki: (eyes widen. becomes silent) "Is that so..."
-Yana: (looks down) "My deepest apologies."
-Yuki: (shakes his head and embraces the other) "If I know myself to be responsible and truthful, then there is no need to forecast the future that I have already in my control."
...
-after Yuki knows about Yana's pregnancy,
-Yuki: We should let Genichirou know too. After all, he is the other one who lives in the house.
-Yana: Aa. However, there is a high chance that this may seem ridiculous to him. (looks afar) "That is why, I have delayed telling him so."
-a few days later, Yana walking on veranda, thinking of best time to tell Sana
-encounters Sana: (entirely serious face)
-before Yana could open his mouth and speak, Sana: "Renji. We need to talk."
-so they found a spot at the veranda overlooking the cherry tree (which was now just green, for it was at summer's end)
-neither of them spoke, until finally, Yana sighed, and said, "Seiichi told you, did he not?"
-Sana: (silent for a while) "...Aa." (doesn't say anymore)
-Yana: (sighs, ponders silently) "...If you cannot accept such absurdity, I will never again appear before you." (moves to rise)
-Sana: (turned to him, grabs his hand) "No! It's not that!"
-Yana: (opens eyes, surprised)
-Sana: (lowers voice) "I know it is absurd. It is ridiculous. But it is what it is. And you cannot be blamed for possessing such a body."
-Yana: "Genichirou..."
-Sana: (looks at him) "You are Yanagi Renji. And such a fact will not change just because you are to bear my lord's child."
-Yana: (silent for a while, then corner of lips raised to tiny smile) "Thank you, Genichirou."
(he placed his free hand upon his companion's hand that grasped his other hand) He knew, if the other could accept the fact that he was pregnant, the other could also accept the fact that he was involved in a relationship with Seiichi, someone sharing his gender.
-Yana: (smile broadened when Sana turned away, embarrassed and red-faced. But the other did not pull away.)
...
-A few days later, Yuki introduced him to doctor he requested from the Seishun clan.
-doctor: Oishi Syuichirou, highly reputable, arrived back from england from practice
-both Teuzka and Oishi arrived at clan
-oishi went to check up on yana; afterwards, gave him some formulas
-Yana: "You do not seem surprised at such a strange occurence."
-Oishi: (smiles) "I've seen much of this world as a doctor. There really isn't too much that can surprise me now."
-Yana: (nods) "Is that so."
-after check up, oishi and yana exits room: sees Sana and Tezu sparring with wood swords
-atmosphere: somewhat intense
-Oishi Yana sit on veranda, joining Yuki
-Yana: notices that Tezu is pretty good; he practiced kendo too, regardless of the advancement in military arms; impressed
-sees impress in Sana's eyes too; and Sana doesn't get impressed easily
-after the first check up, Oishi comes every four weeks for visit
-Yana: notices that Tezuka always comes with Oishi
-by the 28th week of his pregnancy, Yuki had already arranged for certain maids to attend to his needs; cook in the kitchen made food according to the menu Oishi suggested
-Yuki: wouldn't let him do much
-activities: Yuki Yana walk in garden, Sana Yana walk; days getting cold (October arrives); so most of his activities became indoors
-Sana Yana: play shogi and go together; Yuki Yana play koto and shakuhachi and biwa together, three read together; Yuki Sana tend to clan business
-October: Oishi's visits became more frequent 2 times a month
-mid-December: Oishi lived in house, b/c Yana would soon deliver
-Oishi sat down before Yana, Yuki, Sana to talk to them about delivery
-Oishi: "Because of your gender, you have an android pelvis. Which means, the shape of your pelvis is not ideal to support natural child delivery."
-Yana: (calm) (nods) (trusts that the other had an alternative)
-Oishi: "Therefore, I will have to anesthetize you and perform a Cesarean section on you. That is, I will need to incise your abdomen to deliver your child."
...
Night.
-Yana Yuki talk
-Yana: Thinks it is unnatural for him to be bearing a child.
-Yuki: If Kami-sama granted you this special body, he has granted us a special gift.
-Yuki Yana: Talk about baby's name
-Yuki: Shinshi = gentleman;
-Yana: (amused) "How do you know that it is a boy?"
-Yuki: "I am the baby's father. I know everything."
-Yuki Yana: smiles
SANA POV
-many times, Sana dreams of his childhood
-father died when he was ten, at that age, he began training as warrior to forget pain
-but was always lonely
-would sometimes secretly look at other children and their parents; how they would fall down and their parents would run in, worried
-he heard ppl say that the things one dreams of the most are the things that one is most regretful of, the things that one attempt to alter and change in their dreams to compensate for their powerlessness in reality
-yet, he questioned the truth of other's words
-b/c his dream was always the same, unaltered. There was no way of altering his dream, because he had already accepted the truth, no matter how much he did not want to.
...
-When men did not have wars to fight in, they settle down and begin thinking about creating a family, and creating his legacy to be passed down with his children.
-When Sana went out for drinks, he cannot help but notice the amount of mothers craddling babies in their arms and the increase in new faces running from street corner to street corner.
-When men did not have wars to fight in, they spent their time procreating.
-Then he thinks about his age, and realize, perhaps it was his time as well.
-But the idea of starting a family with a woman did not interest him. As he walked down the street, encountering the numerous young and beautiful faces, he did not stop to admire any.
-The same day, when he returned back to his lord's residence and retired back to his room, he slept without dreaming of his sad childhood. Instead, there was a figure there, about his age, his character as flexible and gentle as his given name.
-IT was the only person who he would consider beginning a family with. Yet, it was impossible, for the other, like him, was a man, and could not produce any children. While, at the same time, that certain person was already involved in an unbreakable relationship with his lord.
-In the end, all he could do was fantasize a little and sneak his fantasies into his dreams at night.
...
-was there the possibility of dreaming something into life?
-He wondered. He really wondered.
-"Renji is pregnant." His lord tells him when he sat down before him. The other had summoned him to the garden,
He stood, petrified. Mouth agap as if he wanted to say something.
-Finally, he said.
-"I apologize, my lord, I-..."
-"Renji is pregnant." The other repeated. There was no mistake.
-Sana: (stood wordless) (didn't know what to say)
-Yuki: (turned to look at him intently) "I tried thinking of the best way to reveal such news to you for the past few days." (looks away as if recalling the past few days) "But in the end, I thought you would not appreciate meaningless small talk leading up to such a revelation. So, I thought I would just tell you."
-Sana: (still too surprised) (thought he was just dreaming)
-recalls the past few days how he fantasized about Renji being a woman
-But wait, did that mean that Renji was a woman?
-"No, he is very much a man." Yuki smiled, amused.
-Sana: (realized that he had just said his thoughts aloud) "...A-aa..."
-There was more silence.
-Yuki: (looks at him) "You still cannot believe it, can you?"
-Sana: "How can I?" (brows knit) "It is not unnatural for men to be pregnant?"
-Yuki: "It is." (agreed) "Do you think it to be repulsive?"
-Sana: (denied without hesitation) "No!" (voice lowered but still solemn) "Anything but that..."
-it was true, he was anything but repulsed. He was ambivalent. He was relieved that his fantasies were no longer fantasies, that Renji had the ability to bear children. Yet he was also jealous, jealous of the one who is to begin a family with the other.
-Finally, Sana spoke again. This time, he pose a question with a monotonous voice, unbetraying his emotions.
-"Shall I assume that you have responsibility in Renji's pregnancy, my lord?"
-Yuki: (smiles) "You are sharper than I give you credit for." (smiles wider) "Or maybe, the relationship between us has gotten to be so conspicuous?"
-Sana: (turned away, silent)
-Beside him, he heard the other whisper a solemn apology.
-As random as it was, he thought he understood the other's reason.

-he witnessed Yana's child with Yuki and could not help but crave for a family such as this
-Yuki: give him time to accept you; You are the only one who I am willing to share him with
-In the end. He was there when Renji gave birth. Both Seiichi and him were there. They were at the other sides, each of them holding one of Renji's hands to pass their strength onto the other.
-Yana: put to sleep, b/c required C-section (android pelvis, baby can't get out through birth canal)
...
-It was spring again.
He saw his lord turn to wave to him under the cherry blossom tree in full bloom.
The figure beside him turned to look at him too, the child wrapped in a silk bundle. Renji smiled softly at him too.
They were offering him a spot under the cherry blossom tree. He quickened his pace to join them.
-Sana and Yana's first night (December)
-Yuki: away
-Sana remembers how Yana had his lower abdomen split to give birth, hesitant about conception with Yana
-Yana: looks at him with determination: "I want to give you a child too."
-A year later, Renji bore another child in September, welcoming autumn. This time, this was his own child.
This was the child who would become the successor to Yukimura Seiichi. He was the one who they would leave the clan with, when they end their duties to travel around Japan.
But, of course, that was the story twenty years later...
