I'm sorry, Mr. Thomas Frank and his cronie..Mr. josh Rice, but I do not agree with you. I was babysitting the KOzub kids tonight and after the Princess Diaries ended..I watched CSPAN 2-BOOKS...(yes..I am a nerd and I was doing my math homework while watching it..I really am a nerd...lol) and they were taping this guy, Thomas Frank, author of "what'

Mr. Rice is a very hot-headed political man, and yes he dos have an opinion and is entitled to it, but in no way shape or form does he ever force his opinion on us. Never ever. He speaks his mind freely is probabaly what is getting to you, I take it you don't happen to like teachers to work a little more passionately and out of the box then strictly sticking to text books. It's also well said that a teacher should keep their opinions to themself, but that makes the learning scene all the more dull, uninformative and so covered. This new generation of voters (and future ones) really have no idea what to look for, what to vote for and what to believe in. Rice has, fortunately, realized this issue of confusion and he explained both sides of the issues. He is never biast and I congragulate him for that. There are so many teachers in the school who actually are biast, and I am shocked that you would attack Rice about his opinions. Fincklestien (or whatever you spell it) is a hard headed Bush supporter, which is fine in all means, but does he have the right to tell his students Bush is the ONLY way to go? I doubt it highly.
You say many young people are being force fed liberal junk. What type of young people do you know? How can you speak for all of us? I am not a conservative, I am not liberal, I am not independant- I am a freshman in Central High School class of 08. I believe in being open minded, I believe in moral values, I am against killing, I am against war and I am against the conformality. We young people get fed only what you give us. That is not fair that you should say we are being fed liberal mumbo-jumbo, because it is the same with CONSERVATIVE YOUNG PEOPLE. I asked a boy in my class if Bush was right for starting a war, he said yes, and that the Iraqi people should die. What kind of answer is that? You tell me, I'd love to know your view.
It's fine if you are a hardcore conservative who hates Rice, that's fine, but I feel it necessary to say that sometimes learning is personal...and real wisdom comes not from paid textbooks or dictator teachers, it comes from talking and experience.
Not all young people smoke weed and go with the flow. My class especially, is a wonderfully diverse group of people with free opinions, and I'm very glad that we respect each other's and we get along fine...for 15 year olds.

haha..
i feel that the child in your class who said that all iraqis should die is a huge misinterpretation of what the republinacs stand for..he is obviously a bad example and should be shot immidiately..lol..jayykayy..no shooting...but in all fairness..his comment was very ignorant and anyone who proposes bush knows that in his respect for all life, the respect and love for the Iraqis is high on the list...yes, of course there will innocent casualties.but what war hasn't had them? hafd to get him before he got us, america is a powerful force in this world and although it is "nice" to have the backage of the UN, you sometimes have to go it alone and do what you think is right...It is important to not just be antiwar..but pro-troops..
I have not had the "privildge" to have mr. finklestein as a teacher..but I would seriously love to have him. it sounds like the fact that he tells his students the GOOD things about bush is wrong...but yet..I haer the bad all the time and no one has the balls to come forward and asy "ypu now..this guy won the election..america obviously has faith in him..so he must not be that bad..." unless we in the east are the "educated and enlightened ones "(..thank you thomas frank,,using your own against you!ha!)and think that the red states are all ignorant red necks and against their own...w/e..i just don't see the logistics in it all..
i knwo tou do not smoke pot..atleast I would hope not..it is not good for the baby...::wink wink::..

in all fairness, war is never an answer to anything and SHOULD never be an answer. war was never right in the first place, and it wasn't Iraq who directly attacked us...
also, how can I not be pro-troops? They were put there against there will...they are mere chess pieces in this brutal game. they had no say at all to what was going around them, and as I have a heart (hopefully) they do get my sympathies and worries.
it's kind of ironic how Bush is against abortion yet he goes and kills millions of Iraqis...children, women and men. these arent just casualties...these are murders. same on our side, out soldiers weren't murdered by Iraqis, they were murdered by a decision by a man too hasty and too stupid to think. War is never right despite what politics or religious excuses say...never ever right.
Mr. Fincklestein is a fickle character. He's like a Rice....only not. He's worse than a Rice actually...much worse.
And just because Bush won doesnt mean ALL AMERICA has faith in him.....I certainly don't. I didn't have faith in Kerry either...I prefered Nader if anything!
I can see your opinion from where you're coming from, and dearie it's alright. :) Debates can be fun when kept clean!
hahaha, im a clean kid...no smoking fo mah babay!!! lol <3
