Crawling out of my shell

So, a couple of times I've gone out to the alt/goth/fetish nights. Whilst the music has ranged to the better side, I must say, going out solo is a gamble. I really just want to get out and people watch, maybe meet some new people, dance, and enjoy myself. When did goth/alt nights turn into a locale where the norms seeped in until they became the majority, thus reverting the scene back to high school where groups of females dressed in what they're told is "fashion" put their purses on the floor and did a purse dance circle jerk?

Really?

Then! Then there are the toads that think they're going to pick up a gawff girl! Cause like she's freaky, so she must be easy.

I really felt like physically pushing people. If this is what the scene has de-evolved into down here, no thank you.
