I have the day off from work (because I'm working Saturday) so I'm trying to be productive.
Things so far:
-Done the roughest of outlines of my CV for grad school
-Started my Statement of Purpose for grad school. (It's about 1.5 paragraphs and I'm pretty sure it won't be the actual intro)
-Written about 3/4ths of a zine submission on ADHD, which I already want to rewrite most of
So obviously my to-do list is looking like this:
-Finish the CV
-Write more for my Statement of Purpose
-Figure out what items I want my grad school letter-of-rec-writers to highlight*
-Request transcripts for grad school
-Request GRE scores for grad school
Also:
-2pm Meeting
-Pick up Carlos at 5
-Possible Halloween activity with a friend tonight
*This is really tough. I graduated in 1999. We're talking 11 years ago. I have 3 profs who have all (very cheerfully) agreed to write letters of rec. Two of them asked me to give them points to highlight. I haven't done anything academic since graduating. I write and edit for a national arts group. I am loosely involved in bike advocacy and feminist/womens advocacy. I play music. But those things have nothing to do with my profs experiences with me as a student, and really are only loosely related at best to my potential performance as a grad student.
I wish I could just sit in a room with a department prof and chat for 45 minutes about why I want into their program so badly and skip all of this paperwork. (Do you know how impossible it is for ADHD having people to deal with paperwork and deadlines?)
real life,
