"I tear my heart open, I sew myself shut
My weakness is that I care too much
My scars remind us that the past is real
I tear my heart open just to feel"
Ok, see these lyrics here? I've determined that these lyrics encompass everything that is wrong with America. "Oh boo friggin hoo, I'm such a martyr, I put everyone before me, my life is so horribly tragic." Cry me a friggin river and drown yourself in it, bitch. That seems to be the fad these days; being a martyr. I am so tired of hearing people bitch and moan and whine about how they're so selfless and they're so tired of never doing anything for themselves. Bullshit. A few exceptions aside, 95% of the time, people who complain like that are LAST people in the world who should be whining about it. They're usually the selfish morons that cause other people the most pain, and who corrupt the rest of our relatively placid lives with their INCESSANT explosions of melodrama. You know WHY you need to create these dramatic scenarios every damn day? BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A LIFE! GO GET A FUCKING JOB OR A HOBBY OR ANYTHING AND LEAVE THE REST OF US THE HELL ALONE!
I heard the lyrics to this song the other day at the gym, and was HORRIFIED to learn that it was by Papa Roach. I used to like them, they used to be semi-hardcore, but I suppose their popularity ran out pretty fast, and they disappeared into the woodwork for several years... until they had a moment of inspiration and decided to try to hop on the Emo-whiney-bitch wagon. I'll give them some credit though, they sure as hell chose a winning formula; I've heard this song more times a day than I ever heard "last resort" several years ago. That's because they realized that people eat this shit up. Some drunk little 11th grade "punk" out there is sitting in his basement listening to his lyrics, and all he can say is "oh man, this is like my fuckin anthem, it's so true." It's music like this that has created a generation of "men" that are more whiney and bitchy than women are.
