More to do, yet.

Where to start?

Librarian gig is still smashing as ever. Actually more so, as this time I'm more than just a work-study student. I'm tasked with adding new materials supplied by the faculty for the reserve collection, watching over the work-studies, and a few other fun tasks as assigned. It's pretty chill and pays some bills.

KF? Yeah, intense as ever. I've started up 2 mile laps both morning and night in addition to regular classes, classes which are getting rather intense. Last night hosted a large variety of sparring opponents, and though I did reasonably well I did find several ways I'll need to improve before the pre-test at the end of the month.

Speaking of which, it turns out that after completing the black belt for KF, I'll officially titled Cho Gyo Nim (Assistant Instructor) and encouraged to start up my TKD training ASAP. Further details are still up in the air, but big things are afoot.

We're adopting two cats this weekend from Almost Home Adoptions, a great facility that offers a simulation home for the cats they have and a web-site that even features pics of their current residents. No, we've not chosen target cats as we want to see how they interact with us in person, but there are a few favorites I'm eying.

Following up with consolidation options, I'm working up a better payment plan for my loans. This certainly wouldn't be worth mentioning, but after poring over ticket sites I've been crafting a plan for a week vacation in Japan with Beemer late next year or year after. I can get reasonable airfare, and by staying in various ryokan we can save a sizable amount overall. (Yeah, like I'd settle for a Western hotel!) Anyway, this is longer term planning that's impacted by the size of the loan payments, and thus, a current obstacle.

So, yeah, overall we're good here. In what little free time I've got, I've finished Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and found it a reasonably fun, easter egg filled game stuffed with a variety of play modes that, ultimately, ends on a bit of a flat note. Silent Hill: Homecoming is a more action oriented installment of the series, but so far the combat is a bit dodgy and the plot is highly predictable. I'll finish it, but I probably shan't enjoy it so.

Oh! And there's the details surrounding our session of 2nd Ed. Descent: JitD. Beemer, Nick, and mahannie57 face off against me in this rapid paced revision. I'll do a write up of this soon.

tae kwon do, games, the cats, job, kung fu, japan!, descent
