Okay, seriously. Mortal Kombat has been far too silly to take seriously, even considering the fatalities. However, this addition of Freddy Krueger is kind of absurd. Sure, he's a killer and is not necessarily any less believable than the four armed Goro or cybernetic ninja Sub-Zero, but he's sort of an obscure character now, isn't he? He's not exactly relevant, even after the unsuccessful reboot so why include him?

Of course, this probably means that we will eventually see Friday the 13th's Jason Hoorhees, Halloween's Michael Meyers, and other famous killers of the big screen in the game at a "reasonably" priced $5 each! Hooray DLC! /sarcasm
