Okay, so I got KH3D last week and I'm not that far through it yet, but it's pretty fun so far! I… had more thoughts, but I've been levelling up the last couple of days since I got past story, so.
eeeee intro sequence so cool I'm not sure this explains a whole lot but it's pretty cool! (also Mickey being affected by things and doubling eeeeee)
Ursula fight! ohhhhhh man I can't… take this seriously *face in hands* I get this is a tutorial, but how even…? A wizard did it. Okay.
Riku is doubting himself, and therefore Sora is coming on the test too. Boys. (Also, where is Kairi? I want Kairi being fierce. Admittedly, they could screw that up, but…)
I… don't really have a handle on Diving how do you score well at this…
Traverse Town! I love Traverse Town *_* I am glad to see it is not totally dead! Except for… the lack of people. Uh. I get that producing NPCs takes up power, but… this is actually kind of creepy! (And worse in Paris. I mean, I can understand that there's kind of a story reason but it still is pretty creepy.)
And NEKU! Neku being his adorable anti-social "I'm only talking to people 'cause I have to" self! Heeeee. (…I should play TWEWY again. *nod*) I'm… not questioning how Neku knows Sora's name because sure, why the hell not. Sora's a Keybearer, there's probably some explanation. "Is it really that easy [to become friends]?" and yeah, of course Sora has the shounen hero answer! but I can see where Neku's coming from because oh man, reaching out to people. orz
Anyway! Neku first asks if Sora's his Partner, because… I don't know, I kind of get the impression a bit later than Neku already knows Shiki? Have they… actively been teamed up? :|a Anyway, Neku's got a timer, Sora doesn't- I guess it should show through the glove if Sora had it, that would make sense. And freak the hell out of someone who put a glove on to try and hide it…
What's the timer supposed to be counting down to? :|a We don't see any Reapers… (I guess this is a thing answered later, I'll get to it.)
And then we're looking for Neku's partner. And Neku brings Sora to meet- shit, some dude in a black zipping leather coat! It's not even a different style! And apparently they had a deal, but it doesn't seem to be going Neku's way and then Neku jumps in the way to bodycheck this guy. Neku. You do give a shit!
And then Sora is suddenly sleepy and drops out. Okay. So- this is the dropping thing! Okay, cool.
And now we have Riku, who… is in the Third District (just… about where Sora dropped out? okay. It's never going to work out that way again, is it). And Riku gets Joshua, oh god. Joshua sounds even more annoying than in my head! Awesome. And now I can hear that… it's the same guy for him and Onion Knight, yeah? Man. Riku doesn't trust him, but then Joshua mentions finding Sora and okay, I guess we're doing this. Sigh.
Riku says that the Dream Eaters don't seem to be attacking Joshua (we haven't had that many fights yet, but… okay), and asks what's up with that. Joshua says he does have dreams, so he doesn't really know and okay, what's Joshua's deal here… He then says something about someone else who said he didn't have any dreams, but then they turned out to be the most important of all, and my initial thought was Rhyme, but… I dunno, I'm not so sure that makes sense.
Anyway, then Beat turns up! He's trying to take Joshua out (BEAT), and Joshua tells him he's been tricked, but Beat says "Your inverse psychiatry ain't gonna work on me, yo!" and lets loose a Kooma Bear. Oh, Beat. And- we're not doing a 'protect Joshua' mission, right? Right? Cause I don't really want to do that… oh, okay, it's just heading straight to fight Riku. Okay.
Beat is down after that- "I just want to protect the person most important to me", Riku knows that feel, bro, and then drops out. Sigh. I'm… not sure, this seems like it could get kind of annoying.
Back to Sora! Doop doop, running around fighting things, I really dislike the Post Office because ack, fast camera changes, I have no idea if I can find all the damn treasures. Sora finds Rhyme, who's… lost her memory, okay, sure, why not, that makes as much sense as losing her dreams and I guess it's got something to do with whatever's going on here.
-oh, right, Joshua recruited Riku to find Rhyme because apparently her dreams serve as a portal between the shifts in this world or something. Okay.
Anyway! Sora and Rhyme find Neku, Neku apologises for the whole mess with the deal and has a little trouble believing they're still friends but… Sora's cool with it, because Neku stood up for him when it counted! We're all cool here. I wonder what point this is in regards to TWEWY development, but like we're actually going to get an answer to that. Then Rhyme disappears, I am blaming Joshua, and boss fight! This thing is kind of a pain, but yay Flowmotion that kind of saved my ass pretty good! And the boss bursts into something like fireworks, the bits showering down over the town. Huh. I wonder if that's supposed to do something.
Then we spot ghostish!Riku and he is backing away from black coat guy, good. Apparently they can't hear us? Man. Also, of course one half of the partner sets got trapped on the other side… And Joshua is on Sora's side now. O…kay. And Neku introduces Joshua as "…a friend". Hahaha.
Anyway, Sora's done, back to Riku! Riku found Shiki, who… addresses him as her knight in shining armour, since he fought off Dream Eaters attacking her. Riku's reaction is "what no" which oh, Riku. Anyway, we're off after Joshua and Beat, and… we don't find them, but we do find this black coated guy, who made a deal with Shiki to get her to Neku and back home (so basically the inverse of Neku's deal). The guy reveals himself, and… why have we got another Xehanort person. Why.
Yen Sid said something earlier about Xehanort having many different incarnations, and the boys just went… '…yep okay that figures'. Really, it's not a surprise at this point, I'm just… okay, so what's his deal then and why did I initially get a Saïx vibe…
Anyway, Beat is looking after Shiki, so we go chase down this guy's massive Dream Eater (Hockomonkey. Okay). This is more of a pain than with Sora, I think Sora gets a bit more invulnerability with his Flowmotion and Riku was entirely in the Garden section… and I think one of Sora's Dream Eaters might have healed him some, I'm not sure. Anyway, I beat it, fireworks again, and then we're all down, and everyone's facing their partners. Beat tries to grab Rhyme, but his hands just go through her. I'm sure that's not unsettling at all. Is she feeling that? No one on the other side reacts, but…
Anyway, everyone says the other's names, and… apparently this is what they needed, to acknowledge/create each other. Joshua explains that their existences had come to an end, so he brought them here to fix them up (Traverse Town appeared in response to that desire, and is currently formed up of Joshua's dreams)- and I guess the Game wasn't… really… happening, so I don't know why Neku had a timer-, and they became whole through seeing each other. Which explains why they're revolving in the cutscene, except Beat and Rhyme are kind of timed where they actually look at each other, and Neku and Shiki… not so much. Anyway, I guess they're all fixed up now? And Joshua answers nothing, just reveals his wings and take off. And then the keyhole reveals itself, and they unlock it, and- there are diamonds all around. Huh. Okay, that's cool. I guess because it's sleeping?
Incidentally, okay, how long has this shit with Xehanort been going on? What the hell, seriously.
also there's something about the Chi-blade splitting into twenty parts, seven of light and thirteen of darkness, and
hahahailtotheking said something about "oh, see, so that totally meant something, guys!" and I'm just going… "wow. so that means the light is outnumbered, almost by double. Great job guys. Well I guess that means the light has that much more to fight against and win but uh I kind of thought we were doing a thing with balance :\". Maybe that's just fanon. :| Like… man, didn't a whole bunch of people say something about Riku's keyblade being a keyblade of Twilight or something? Apparently it's just plain Light. Okay, whatever. I'm not actually going to think about it too hard.
And Riku absorbs the power of his Spirits to do cool attacks and have things on his arms and FLOAT WITH BATTY aaaaaaahhhh I can't *_* guys I want caps of this so bad you don't even know Sora bounces around on his thing, I guess I'll switch the Meow Wow out and see what he does then.
The Spirits are so cute guys I love the batty so much you have no idea. Can I improve their ranks now that they've been created or not? I want her to be the best batty.
Next time: La Cité des Cloches! I like that the name is in French. I wish it had a crowd, though.
Aaaand I need to replay BBS. Especially since I… still haven't seen that one ending, whoops :D;;
