“…you haven’t been on one of these before, have you?” Kiernan said, after watching Myrne trying to gain her footing for several minutes.
Myrne shot him a nasty look, but didn’t say anything to deny it.
“Takes everyone a little while,” Kiernan said, leaning against the side of the airship’s cabin. “Don’t worry about it too much, you’ll get used to it sooner or later.”
“I hope it’s sooner,” Myrne muttered, and stumbled, due partly to one of the kits trying to be helpful.
“There’ll be time,” Kiernan told her, and went over to the controls. “Besides, learning these won’t happen overnight,” he promised.
Myrne’s eyes gleamed, and she straightened up. “Show me,” she demanded, going over.
Kiernan smiled.

Sophie had really become quite the scourge of dirt and dust, Howl thought, considering the current state of the interior of the castle. He presumed that some of her magic was helping, though he couldn’t entirely see how just at the moment. Perhaps she’d talked the whitewash into being particularly dust-resistant, though he wasn’t quite sure just how well that would work. What if someone were to have an accident- though of course he couldn’t have that-, or the wind did what it did best and blew particles everywhere?
“Howl,” Sophie said, frowning at him as she made her way past. “Haven’t you got anything better to do than watch the walls? They’re not about to go anywhere, I assure you.”
“There is nothing that could be better than watching you work,” Howl assured her.
“Hmph,” Sophie said, but allowed him to kiss her hand anyway.

Day/Theme: 18 July- the profession of my fingers floating over you

Character/Pairing: Waka, Amaterasu

Waka had always respected propriety, in his way (which had generally tended more to respecting the people he thought absolutely worthy of respect and, well, trying not to take fools too hard).
There were some points at which this became rather difficult, though. Usually around Amaterasu, who- despite occasional appearances to the contrary, he did rather respect (and in truth, had had occasions where it had been hard not to do so)- rather ignored propriety, or joyfully trampled over it where she could.
He told himself that this was probably due to her current form, as was the preference for scratchings. She looked nothing but unrepentantly pleased.

Character/Pairing: Lucca, Marle, semi-implied Crono/Marle/Lucca

Notes: Some head-canon. Needs work.
Lucca wasn’t jealous, not really. She’d figured it probably wasn’t going to work between she and Crono when they were a lot younger (getting him to go to sleep instead of excited and interested in projects probably wasn’t a good sign), so making sure that whoever he found cared about him became a high priority instead.
Discovering that Marle cared about Lucca in- maybe not quite the same way, Lucca was even less sure about what to do if things were that way- well, cared about her in some way was a little weird. Lucca’d figured it’d be good if they got along, but hadn’t really expected it- after all, she was the weird girl, wasn’t she?
Didn’t quite explain the grip Marle had on her hand, though (almost as if she thought Lucca would slip out if she didn’t hold on that tightly, which… wasn’t that far from the truth). Maybe she’d ask later.

The lack- or, well, relative lack (it tended to depend on Dark’s whims) of privacy was something Daisuke could’ve done without, being at that stage where his body was awkward in some ways anyway and given that there were some thoughts that he didn’t particularly want to share. He could’ve done without Dark’s mocking, sometimes, too, but he was getting used to it after a fashion, given that it was getting on to be a year now.
He couldn’t quite remember how it’d been without Dark somewhere in his head, which should probably have bothered him more than it should- or bothered him differently, something other than that Dark wouldn’t be laughing at him any more.

Notes: Kind of wanted to write something for Aladdin, but… yeah.
They stood at the edge of the walkway, and Sora held out his hand, grinning the kind of grin that meant that he was up to something. “Come on, I want to show you something!”
“Oh? What kind of thing?” Kairi asked, smiling.
“I want it to be a surprise,” he told her, grinning. “It’s nothing bad, I promise!” he added. “Just trust me.”
There wasn’t really much that she could say to that without hurting his feelings. She took his hand and felt the bottom of her stomach drop as he stepped off the edge, taking her with him. “Sora!”
He reached into a pocket and pulled out a pouch, which showered (in a sense) Kairi in golden dust. “Just believe!” he said and took her other hand.
Their course steadied, and Kairi stared before frowning at him. “Sora. Don’t do that again!”
He grinned again, this time apologetically. “I won’t. I just… I wanted to share this with you. It’s good, right?”
She floated back into an upright position, and looked around. “Yes,” she said softly. “It is.”

Myrne had expected this, that it would become cold in winter, but expectations tended not to live up to actual experience when it came to this sort of thing. She’d got herself and the two kits out of the wind and they were huddled together to keep each other as warm as they could, at least, but they’d have to go out sometime.
She wanted to protect them as much as she could, though, curled up around them as no one had for her.

If they were to go out, they would go out in a blaze, as their lives had begun. That was only fitting, they felt, and it would be something to see for anyone watching.
These marshes were possibly not the best place for people to see them, wet and squelchy, but then they’d been viewed at a distance for so much of their life. Being seen from a distance at this point wasn’t going to do them any harm- and it might be for the best, in some cases. They couldn’t quite tell for themselves, but there were stories.
And there was always the fear of what would- or wouldn’t- happen in the end, in the marshes.
There was a price to be paid, though. There was a price for everything.
