Alternating between wanting to yell 'PAY MORE ATTENTION' at self and going 'D:<' at certain people. One because I royally messed up on when chat times were (sleep! I like it! if I would like to be at chat, I will miss out on it one day a week though askd;jlk), one a mix of 'should've been watching that program/I've mentioned it doesn't send alerts for chat invites (I don't think I was on that long, either! Enough to get annoyed and decide to restart which was when I noticed, and then no go! What the hell.)' and. Just. AAAARGH.
I really hope I can find J-pop someplace local. That's been helping (also I should go pick up that lolcat book. should be in city sometime this week, I think…).
…thinking about taking a couple of pups to
8_dressing. Dithering because a) icons b) pretty sure I'm treating dressing rooms more srs biz than I should be. *siiiiigh*
Well, just gotta be stronger. Figure out how to get there, and do it. Singing? Hnn.
Title: Stretched
Day/Theme: April 15- how long have I been walking down this road?/Nutmeg #23- square peg
Canon: Original
Character/Pairing: Dahy, Xephos
Rating: G
Notes: It could've qualified more for square peg? More focused on the being tired, I think. (also twitchy about revealing too much god this is stupid.)
If he’d thought about it, he might have said that he was tired. The trouble with that was there were few he would’ve wanted to say that to- hardly anyone he trusted, and Raziel probably had enough on his mind. He didn’t really have time or space to be tired, either- while the search probably wasn’t going on all the time, he couldn’t afford to be caught out of tune. He didn’t have the answer yet. Before and above all else, he needed that- or enough of one that the rest could become clear with a little work, and what time he could spare was spent on that.
Little wonder his partner thought he was stressed, and did his best to distract Dahy. There were very few people who could resist Xephos when he was in the mood to make people give the dog scratches, and Dahy was rarely among them. Sometimes, he’d even got Dahy to get some sleep that way- something Dahy clearly needed. And Xephos had no objections to making sure Dahy didn’t try to get up.
Title: Good Works
Day/Theme: April 16- any man can be kind when he is comfortable
Canon: Good Omens
Character/Pairing: Adam, Pepper, Brian, Wensleydale
Rating: G
Notes: Not really happy with this one. Didn't feel up to that jerk kid or Fei Wong Reed, though… (who has some of the worst katakana for a name. Aside from Florite.)
Adam sits, and in a kind of fuzzy way thinks that this is good. The world's been wrong, but soon everything will go right (he doesn't doubt it will, not even for a second- he can't imagine that it wouldn't; why would it?). Everything'll be fixed, and then he and Brian and Wensleydale and Pepper can play and keep the world just fine…
Only something’s not quite right, something about the fuzz, and with a start he realises it’s him, it’s the fuzz, and that this isn’t right.
If they want things right, they’re gonna have to do some work.
Title: Some Kind of Escape
Day/Theme: April 17- I've seen him cheat himself
Canon: Final Fantasy 6
Character/Pairing: Edgar
Rating: G
Notes: Edgar! Ahaha, don't mind the end, please…
Edgar minds the business of ruling, rather, but someone has to do it. And Sabin is, well…
He made his decision. Edgar's glad for him. And it's not all bad, he does on occasion entertain most charming companions. It’s simply all the politics that go with it, having to play nice with the Empire and try to keep things going for the Returners.
Probably it would make things easier if he gave up trying to help the Returners, but in all honesty, how could he face anyone if he did that? Certainly not his brother, nor his parents, if he manages to meet them in the afterlife. And, well. He supposes there’s some frisson of excitement when he pulls something off.
It only gets more intense when he throws off the covers, and he wonders if he’ll ever go back- but just briefly. They’ve got immediate troubles to consider.
Title: Reward and Choice
Day/Theme: April 18- these prizes are for living men
Canon: The World Ends With You
Character/Pairing: Megumi Kitanji
Rating: G
Notes: Closeness and names are quite funny. I want to play with that, only technic'ly since Neku got permission… *yaks on about ages and familiarity and suffixes and all that*
The return of whatever was paid to enter the Game is not the only thing given at its end; that is just the price, after all. The reward… well, that is the Composer’s to decide, though Megumi chooses to think that the efforts of the Players might go some way to influencing the Composer’s decision. That all that effort the Players displayed during the Game might go to waste seems… wasteful, if nothing else. Survivors of the Game clearly have some aptitude for the qualities necessary to sustain and improve Shibuya. Should they return to the Realground, they might grow, and perhaps be stronger should they return to the Game, and there are ever opportunities (of sorts) for Reapers.
Megumi doubts that those who do not return to the Realground would choose the final option. After surviving all the week, who would choose oblivion?
Title: As Fast As You Can
Day/Theme: April 19- in desperation, anything becomes possible
Canon: Original
Character/Pairing: Tarran, Xephos
Rating: PG
Notes: Poking at some other things with Tarran. Might talk more about it then. Maybe the piece after.
…I'm gonna need a timeline. Soz.
Tarran has never escorted women out of a dangerous temple before, and if he’s honest with himself (because there is no conceivable reason why he would want to share this with anyone as far as he can see), it feels more as though he’s just tagging along while the women work out which way is out. He blames it on having been unconscious on the way in, but in all honesty he can’t really say he’s used to getting out of mazey sort of things in any case (though he’s starting to get a bit more familiar with them), and it’s a little overwhelming being surrounded by all of them. He rather wishes Xephos was here with them, rather than dealing with whatever it is he went off to deal with. Xephos would at least have some idea as to how to get into conversation, or so Tarran imagines.
The conversation abruptly ceases, though, when something snaps overhead. They all look up. There are cracks spreading through the ceiling.
“Run!” one yells, and they do, individuals occasionally stumbling but regaining their balance as quickly as possible. No one wants to be caught inside.
