hehe I started the next chapter right after I left my first comment but since my eyes couldn't handle anymore time with my failing monitor, I printed the rest of it, the remaining three chapters - 116 pages! - and took it to bed with me. I didn't sleep a wink and was still reading it when it came time to go to work. So I took what was left with me and read it on my breaks. When I left work I stopped at the ladies room before leaving and didn't emerge for half an hour! I still had 40 pages or so to finish when I got home but I couldn't stay awake so I took a little nap and only just finished it. Pathetic huh? I really really liked that story. I had never considered Norrington and Sparrow before but it made sense to me when I thought about it. And the story was just so spot on with the characters that their evolution was believable. I laughed out loud several times. And every time I thought I was gonna put it down, it would get to that place - that zen, perfect place - where it was good and flowing and just so... so.... Like I could see it and hear it happening better than watching the movie. I am done with it now and it's taken me about 28 hours. I'm sad it's over and wish there were more. I'll go hunting for other Noorington/Sparrow fics but given the caliber of my first story with this pairing I probably won't ever be satisfied. I know I'm going on, waxing poetic and such over this tale but it took me completely by surprise. Extremely pleasantly surprised but surprised, nonetheless.

I'm sorry to hear about your show. I always hated it when TPTB do something awful to the characters I love.

I've never had a Netflix subscriptions and don't think I'll ever want to but many people I know say good things about it. I just have no need of it.

Yeah… Those two characters were so deliciously crazy - very different, but both ‘were nuttier than squirrel’s poo’. *sigh*

I always liked Norrington in the movie, and if I would be Elizabeth, I’d merry him, not Will Turner. Turner is nice and pretty, but husband should have a lot of other qualities besides looks. And Norrington’s behavior (at least in original movie, I mean #1) was beyond reproach.

I had never been interested in ‘Pirates’ stories, I was just reading tons of ‘Weiss Kreuz’ (my love) and ‘Yami no Matsuei’ (my another love) fiction in Russian, and stumbled into translation of the first chapter of this story. I liked it so much, so after few pages I found the original, and spent 2 days reading it. :) Thank Goodness, it was 4 days weekend.

I loved the dynamics between Norrington and his lieutenants (and between the all other characters too), I loved how they dressed as pirates, and humor, and English in the story - all those Briticisms. I’ll try to look for more stories of the same author - that’s for sure.

I never wanted Netflix myself, I resisted 6 months, but Death Note broke me. I watched it on U-Tube, and wanted to re-watch on bigger screen. Our computer guy, who has Netflix, rented me first 2 DVDs (you can have only 3 Netflix DVDs at the same time), but I realized it will take *forever* before I see my favorite ep 25, so…

I decided that since my basic cable costs me only $12 a month, I can afford to pay another $15 (it will be $20 or more with taxes, I’m sure :/). Most importantly, they have tons of movies I can watch instantly on-line, for the same price. I watched more anime in last 2 weeks, than in last 10 years. And it saves me money, too - I would buy full season of Last Exile for sure, and that’s over $100.
