Yay!
This weekend has been excellent. I haven't really done much persay, Faol-Sidhe wasn't around and nearly everyone else had play or forensics, so I was on my own. It was lovely weather though. If it keeps up this warm, in two weekends (Play runs for 2 weeks) I want to have a manhunt game!
I know, I've been talking about manhunt for years, but I still want to do it!
Also! A few weeks ago, on the recommendation of my English teacher, I entered a poem in a statewide competition from Buffalo University, (http://www.cas.buffalo.edu/outreach/poetry/index.html . . . still don't know how to link. ^^;;) and I just got a letter back saying I'm an honorable mention! I'm really happy, this is the first time I've ever entered anything in a competition, so I feel quite lucky. There are quite a few hon. mentions from the year before, and we don't get any money (just a cd of something called 'musical poetry' which seems to me rather like musical chairs, except instead of getting a chair, it's the first to grab every word that rhymes with a certain word stays in, while if you can't think of anything, you're out. They'll have words with increasingly less rhymes, till eventually they'll get down to "Orange" or "Purple" or"Silver" and everyone will be out. I'm just babbling now, in case you didn't guess) and a free workshop, but I feel really happy and honored anyway. ^^ I can't wait!
Likewise, this wendsday, I'm going to a 'leadership conference' with a bunch of other AP Euro students . . . don't ask me why. I'm not exactly a leader, more of a 'humorous sidekick' type. Someone told me it was a "Leadership Contest" and I freaked - it would have explained why everyone else who signed up was on the debate team. At least I'll have Chloe to hide behind . . . some leader I am! XD
