Well, Boss1 is back... so far, today was frenzied, frenetic, but cheerful. He seems to be in a good mood - although he directed one ugly, faux-joking comment at my $Colleague$. Grrrr...
Must give him points - he brought me home a lovely gift: a silver crescent bracelet with four tiny stars carved into the outside. Along the inside edge, there's a series of lines, notches and numbers, and there's a little pinhole through the left-hand corner. He said he'd chosen it for me for the "geek factor" - apparently, it's a functional sundial - hold it up to the sun facing south, and the light streaming through the pinhole will strike the appropriate time indicator along the inside edge. Lol. Definite geek factor - and on a funny level, I rather like the feeling of carrying around my own pole star...
Lastly - talked on the phone (albeit briefly) for the first time w/ my Natural Enemy. Darn it if he isn't - at least over the phone - a really warm and nice guy. No one ever acknowledges assistants, and he was all like, Hi, How are you, etc... Then he asked me to call him back to verify his number (away from home) - when I called, he picked up the receiver and exclaimed, "It worked!" He sounded very happy and surprised. Oh well.
