_Chapter 3: Revelation_
“What the hell is going on here?!” shouted angrily Ryo after he stood up “First Koyama and now you! Why are you all running?!”
“I don’t have time to discuss with you now, Nishikido-kun.” Shige replied and tried to surpass his band-mate. But Ryo grabbed him by the arm.
“No. Now you’re going to stay here and explain me why I was assaulted by a crying Kei-chan.”
Shige gave him an annoyed look.
“Because KAT-TUN were talking about how good Leader is at choosing his girls just when Kei-chan had decided to go and apologize to him. And Yamashita-kun was happily laughing with them. I had just finished persuading Kei-chan that it was only a rumor and he had to trust Yamashita-kun. You happy now? I hope so because if you don’t mind I’m going to find my best-friend and try to make up for the mess your dear friends made. Excuse me.”
And with that Shige left the two boys looking at each other’s confused faces.
“So…” started Jin “If I got it well Koyama was crying because KAT-TUN and Pi were gossiping about that article?”
“I’m so going to kill them all!” Ryo said angrily, clenching his fists.
“Now, don’t exaggerate. I was just saying that… Hey, Ryo, wait!”
But the NEWS’ member was already heading for KAT-TUN’s dressing room.
Shige searched for Koyama through the entire Jimusho without finding him. So he returned to NEWS’ dressing room hoping to find him there. When he opened the door he found himself wrapped by Tegoshi’s thin arms.
“Shigeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Finally you’ve arrived! Kei-chan’s ill!” he screamed pulling the taller one inside the room.
Shige saw Kei-chan sitting on the couch, eyes red and cheeks bathed in tears. Massu was sitting beside him and stroking his back, trying to comfort him though he was as confused as Tegoshi.
“Shige, what’s wrong with Kei-chan? Why is he crying?” the youngest one asked.
Shige sighed.
“Massu, would you please take Tegoshi out with you? I need to talk with Kei-chan.”
Massu nodded and caressed Koyama’s back one more time before standing up and approaching Tegoshi, who was still looking at Shige.
“You’ll help Kei-chan, right?” he asked.
Shige tried to smile.
“I’ll do my best…”
Reassured, Tegoshi smiled and headed for the door with Massu.
“…though this time I’m probably not the most suited one.” Shige completed his sentence in his head.
He sighed again and went to sit near his friend.
“Kei…” he started.
The other tried to hide his face from him.
“I’m so stupid… I made a fool of myself, didn’t I?”
“Kei… Don’t say that… You didn’t-”
“Of course Yamapi has his girls. He’s one of the hottest guys in Japan, he’s supposed to be like that. And he surely has his needs too… It’s doesn’t matter if it was that model or some other girl. I mean, it’s not like I really thought he would be sitting there waiting for me. I just… expected everything to be different.”
Silently tears started falling down from his eyes.
“I know. I never thought Leader could act that way either. But he’s just an idiot if he doesn’t see how much you care for him. And KAT-TUN too. They just talk about things they don’t know to kill the time. But, you know, even though Yamashita-kun was laughing with them, I still think it was only a rumor…”
Koyama looked at him.
“How would you know?”
“Actually I don’t know. I just feel it’s like that. I mean, I’m sure Yamashita-kun had his affairs with girls like everyone else. But you should be the first to recognize he has matured a lot after the hiatus. And I won’t believe you didn’t notice his eyes when he discovered you were behind that door earlier.”
“I… Yeah… I’ve seen them…”
“Those were not the eyes of someone who doesn’t care.”
“But still… Those things they said…”
“Hey, what was our plan? Asking Yamashita-kun.”
“Shige, I don’t think I can face him right now.”
Shige put an arm around his friend’s shoulder.
“It’s alright. You don’t have to. Take your time. Ok?”
“Ok.” Koyama agreed and managed a little smile “You know, I don’t get you at all. I thought you were mad at Yamapi.”
Shige grinned.
“I am. He’s an idiot. But he’s an idiot who loves my best-friend and he’s the only one who can make you happy. And besides I’m not stupid. I’m not going to start a fight with him, I know I don’t stand a chance against his muscles.”
Kei-chan laughed.
“Yeah, better this way, I need you all in one piece.”
“Hey!” Shige made a fake pout and started tickling Koyama’s side.
The oldest tried to protect himself from the attacks while he laughed whole-heartily.
“Ne, Shige…”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you.” Koyama smiled.
“Don’t mention it.”
“YAMASHITA TOMOHISA!” Ryo shouted as he slammed the door open.
“Nishikido-kun, your mother didn’t teach you good manners? You could at least knock. And be gentler, will you? We still need that door.” Ueda said.
Ryo didn’t even look at him. He went straight to Yamapi and grabbed him by the collar.
“What the hell did you do to Kei-chan?!”
“Ryo-chan, I-”
“Didn’t you have anything better to talk about?!”
“We… I didn’t know he was there! What we said it’s not true!”
“True or false you know how much those words hurt him!”
“I’m hurt too! I’ve spent the last hour trying to understand what I could have done to him! KAT-TUN were just trying to cheer me up a little.”
“And why did you come to KAT-TUN and not to me?!”
“You know why he was mad at me?” Yamapi’s face lit up.
“Oh, come on, wake up! He read that article just like everyone else!”
“He… He didn’t believe it, did he?” Yamapi’s eyes became sad again.
“Of course he did. Lovers are stupid. They always believe in things that can hurt them.”
“Lovers? What do you mean?”
“He’s in love with you, you idiot! He was jealous of that model and now he thinks you’re really going out with her!”
“I’m not!” the other replied.
“I know! But he doesn’t. And…” Ryo stopped. He had just remembered where he was. When he turned his head he saw the six members of KAT-TUN looking at them with the faces of who is really interested in a show.
Ryo snorted and grabbed Yamapi by the hand.
“We’re leaving!”
Pulling the other with him he started to walk towards the door. When he was in front of it he turned back.
“You!” he pointed his index to the six boys “If you ever hurt one of my members again KAT-TUN's going to be a group of zombies.”
“Hey, why me too? What do I have to do with everything?” Jin complained.
“Member-ai, Akanishi. Share your group's fate.” Ryo replied and then left the room, slamming the door again.
KAT-TUN looked at each other.
“You and your friends!” Ueda gave Jin an annoyed look and headed for the door, slamming it too.
Ryo and Yamapi entered NEWS’s dressing room and found Massu, Tegoshi and Shige sitting at the table.
“Leader!” Tegoshi said “Where were you? Koyama wasn’t feeling well!”
The two guys looked at him.
“What?”
“Yeah! There was definitely something wrong! He was crying!”
Yamapi felt his heart being hit by something piercing. He looked at Ryo and then at Shige.
“Kei-chan was a bit stressed out today. I sent him home. I’ve already informed Manager-san.” the latter said.
The leader of the group just nodded and went to sit on the couch, taking his head between his hands.
Ryo stared at Shige who just looked back at him calmly.
“It has been a tiring day.” The law student said to no one in particular “Let’s just finish practice and go home. We can sort everything out tomorrow.”
