We went bowling last night with Rob and Liz. It was of course fun, but it was also my first try with "real" bowling shoes, not the rentals. And boy are they different! Instead of the entire bottom being slick, its just the toes which took some getting used to. We played two games and the first I got a 113 and the second I got a 118 which for me are pretty good numbers. Not great, I know, but when I'm doing good to break 100, having two games over 100 makes me feel that the $20 was worth it (LOL yeah, real expensive bowling shoes that were on super sale with free shipping - can't pass that up!).
Its annoying trying to find a bowling ball at the place though. I can't use heavier than a 10 because of my back, but it seems that most 10s are drilled for tiny people. I finally found one last night that would work, but it still wasn't great. Oh well, one day I'll get my own ball. :) I think when Charlie, Thomas, Luke and Seth come in next Friday, depending on where I'm at with my baking for the party, we're gonna go bowling at the Collierville lanes.
Tomorrow is the big day. We went and bought our GU packets (its like high calorie snot in a foil pouch :P) for the race. I wanted chocolate flavored (it tastes like a tootsie roll), but they only had one packet left so I had to get the tri-berry flavor for the other three. Its ok, but the chocolate is better. Oh, well, its just a quick fuel jolt for your system on a race anyway. My plan is to down one at the end of every 5k. I'm gonna need all the extra energy I can get tomorrow! Tonight is pasta night. Not sure where we're going to eat, but its gonna be pasta. Daddy and Charlie are coming into town today for the weekend so I'll get their input tonight before we decide where we'll eat at.
