Summary: Hyukjae was saved when his father was murdered. That is when he come across with Donghae and Kyuhyun. Up to that moment his life starts to change.

Chapter 10
Hyukjae wake up with a super happy feeling. He wants to prepare something as a thank you gift for Sungmin and Kyuhyun but Sungmin already in the kitchen when he’s there. “Hyung, you never sleep in? I thought i was early..” Hyukjae whine. Sungmin just laugh at him.
“I never did. Why are you so early? Siwon still sleeping?” Sungmin ask. Hyukjae nod his head. A few moment after, Kyuhyun come to the kitchen. He poke Hyukjae’s small waist making the boy almost fall from his seat. Then he goes to Sungmin and hugs the man before giving him a good morning kiss.
“Hyung, are you sick??” He asks. “No, why?” Sungmin ask him back.
“Nothing. Kyu hyung, why did you kiss Sungmin hyung?”
“He is my wife and i can kiss him whenever i want.” Kyuhyun answer him. A frown form on Hyukjae’s forehead. “So we only allowed to kiss our wife? But Sungmin hyung is a…Hyung.. Why you call him wife?”
“Because he’s acting like one. And i top..” Hyukjae now is in major confusion. “Yah..What are you telling him?” Sungmin smack Kyuhyun head with a cup.
“What do you mean??” Hyukjae ask. “It’s nothing Hyuk. Kyu is just playing around. Why do you ask this all of sudden? Did someone kiss you?” Sungmin try to crack a joke.
“Donghae shi said when people kiss it just to make sure that someone is feeling better. I mean no fever on him. Or it can be a greeting such as a morning kiss. So i guess that is your good morning kiss. But siwon never allowed me to give him any greeting kisses.” Hyukjae said.
Both Sungmin and Kyuhyun look at him. “He kissed you before?” Sungmin ask. Totally forgetting making breakfast. This matter really caught his attention. Hyukjae nod his head looking at Kyuhyun and Sungmin.
“When i had a fever.. At the time when i have to identify the….”
A gasp cross Sungmin’s mouth. “He did?”
“When i ask him about it he said he just want to make sure if i’m feeling any better. And that is a morning kiss.” Kyuhun and Sungmin look at each other.
“He never told me about that. Is that why he’s so distracted? I never know what is going on in his head.” Kyuhyun said.
“Hyung……what is it feel like of….you kiss someone you like?” Hyukjae cheeks are tinted with a faint blush.
“Hyuk, people don’t just kiss their wife or husband. They kiss someone they love too. You see, it is one way to express love. I mean we don’t really have to say i love you all the time.” Sungmin said.
“So Kyu hyung kiss sungmin hyung because of love? What is love, hyung?” Hyukjae ask again resting his chin on his palm. “Love is something beautiful. You love someone as your family, your friend or as someone special. Love is needed in life. It’s kinda hard to live without love. Just like we are right now, we love you as our family. You love siwon as your friend. And I love kyu as someone special.”
“How can you tell if you love someone? Hyung, how do you feel for Kyu hyung?”
“Kyu?? He’s somebody..” Sungmin said looking away with a blush oh his cheeks. Kyuhyun chuckles on his reaction. After years of being together, Sungmin always blush in front of him. Especially whenever they talk about a matter like this.
“Hyung, is it different when he kiss you.. But you kiss me sometimes.. Well not like you kiss kyu hyung..But…still..How is it different?” Sungmin look at Kyuhyun and told him to go away for a while. He’s feeling awkward discussion about his feeling with him around. Of course Kyuhyun will refuse and hug Sungmin from behind. That sweet gesture make Hyukjae smile. He keeps on asking the same question since Sungmin is not anwering. Slowly Sungmin sigh.
“When i kiss Kyuhyun… i have this anxious feeling inside me. I like it when he holds me like this. I feel safe and loved… everytime we kiss; i can feel butterflies in my stomache. Evertime i look in his eyes and hearing him saying sweet things, my heart beats faster and I feel warm.. When he looks at me so passionately, my hearts skips a beat or two. When i’m with him i feel complete. It feels so right. I never want to let him go. Because i love him so much and without him, i’m not me. He makes me feel warm inside. Just thinking about him makes me smile. Make my worries gone away. With him by my side i feel i own the world and he is what i need more than anything..” Sungmin said, blushing mad and Kyuhyun can’t help but to be touched by his every word.
“Hyung, can i ask you this? If he has someone else, what will you do?” Sungmin knows why Hyukjae decided to ask that question. He is dying to tell the boy about what Donghae has told him and Kyuhyun but he is not the right person to talk about it. “If i love him i will try to fight for his love. It’s worth it. But if he choose someone else other than me, then, i’m willing to let him go.”
“But you said you love him. How can you let him go?” Hyukjae cut Sungmin. “If that can make him happy then, that is what i will do. Sometimes we can’t have the things that we love. Sacrifice is needed. Everythings happen for a reason. If he’s happy, i’m happy too. That is all that matters. We can’t force someone to love but we can always learn how to love. You get it, Hyukkie?” Sungmin ask him stroking his hair.
Kyuhyun tighten his hug on Sungmin, kissing his nape. He whisper “I love you” to him too. Just like Sungmin said, having him by his side is more than enough. That is all he want.
“You have someone in mind, kiddo?” Kyuhyun ask Hyukjae. The boy shrugs his shoulder and sigh. “I see you and Donghae love to sigh nowadays. I hope you two didn’t fight or something.” By the mention of Donghae’s name, Hyukjae unconsciously blush again.
“Okay, enough of the heavy talks. I should prepare breakfast.” The lovely sight between Kyuhyun and Sungmin sometimes make Hyukjae jealous. He wants to feel just like that. How will it feels like having someone you love by your side. A hand around your waist and love is in the air. He keeps his eyes on his hyungs and smile once in a while. Everytime they steal kisses from each other, Hyukjae giggles. And when he finally had seen enough, he silently excuses himself and walks to his room.
Siwon was awake and he is in his panick mode. Frowning, Hyukjae approach his bestfriend and ask him what had happen. “I’m sorry, hyukkie.. i know i promise i will stay with you but heechul kinda furious at me now. I have to go back home.. We still have school trip and we can hang out later. I promise i come visit you…with heechul ofcourse. He’s having this huge misunderstanding.” He wants to ask him what is it all about but the panick Siwon, make him ignore the question. He knows heechul. If that girl is pissed off nothing can stop her.
He helps Siwon pack his belongings and told Sungmin and Kyuhyun about it. So they have to go back to Donghae’s place today. After breakfast, Sungmin drove them home to the empty apartment. Donghae must already go to work. Sungmin offer Siwon to drive him home but the boy insists on taking a cab.
Hyukjae is left alone again in the house. He does what he always does. Gaming and spend his time in his room. He accidently clicks on Donghae’s folder in his computer. Lots of Donghae’s photo in it. Donghae insist on saving them in his computer saying that i was for backup. He scrolls down the picture. A lot of picture of them both. He just realizes how obvious his blush cheeks were.
“I look stupid like that.” He said. “Donghae-shi, what you think of me? How do you love me? As a friend? As a family? Lover?? Must be Yoona shi. To tell you the truth, i don’t like seeing you with Yoona shi. I feel like she’s taking you away from me. i mean.. i shouldn’t feel that way but i cant help it. what Sungmin hyung tell me about how he feel when he’s with kyu hyung i felt it with you.. Does it mean i love you as someone special?” He sigh again. He thinks he’s crazy right now talking to a picture. Long hours to go before Donghae will be home.
He then walks to the kitchen and fix himself something to eat. Donghae haven’t called him today. No message as well. He scrunch his nose. After eating, he tip toed to Donghae’s room and lie on Donghae’s bed. Eyes focus on the ceiling. On Donghae’s night stand there’s a frame of his parents and them. He smiles looking at the picture. Time goes by with him looking at the photo until sleep claim his eyes.
Hyukjae don’t know how long he had been sleeping. When he wakes up, he was greeted by a delicious smell of food. “it must be sungmin hyung.” He tought. He wash his face before heading to the kitchen. “Hyun…..” the man in the kitchen is not Sungmin but it was Yoona and Donghae. Yoona is cooking with Donghae assist her.
“Someone finally decide to wake up. Where is your friend?” Donghae smile at him. Instead of looking back at Donghae, Hyukjae eyes focus on Yoona. What is she doing here? Why are they together?
“Earth calling to Hyukkie…” he snapped back from his thoughts. “Siwon? He has to go back home… he…have some business to do.” Yoona look back at him and gives him her beautiful smile. “Donghae-yah..Why you go change and let Hyuk help me with dinner. You won’t mind, right, Hyuk?”
It was awkward with Yoona alone. He never really talks to her. He stand by the kitchen counter watching Yoona do her work. She’s a good cooker. Well not as good as Sungmin but judging by the smell, she is good. Hyukjae didn’t realize he is comparing his good and bad with Yoona.
“Hyuk, can i ask you something? Since you’re not willing to help me.” Yoona started. “What is exactly you and Donghae?” Yoona ask him.
That question really makes Hyukjae wonder. He never calls Donghae hyung. He doesn’t really know why. Hyung doesn’t suit Donghae in his opinion. “I don’t know.” He sounds almost lik e a whisper. “How do you two met?”
That brings back memories. He remembers clearly how they met. How he end up living with Donghae. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.” A slight dissappoinment was heard from yoona’s word. “He… i.. He helps me. And Kyuhyun hyung too. They help me. I’m one of his cases. My father… he was …killed.. And they take me in…” hyukjae don’t really know why can’t he answer her properly.
“Lucky you. So you mean you never met before and they are working on your case and you decided to live with them?”
I decided to live with them? But they are the one who tell me to stay. “I envy you hyuk. Is the case over?” Hyukjae nod. “You’re going to stay until when?” that is a very good question. He is a stranger to them. And they had done a lot for him. Till when he is going to stay? Isn’t he supposed to have his own life now?
While hyuk is debating with his own thoughts, Yoona finish preparing the food and the table. Yoona approach him and pat his shoulder. “My life is not as bad as yours. But i ran away from home. Without money, i make my way to this city. I have a friend though. Stay with her for a while until i manage to find my source of money. Then i find some place to stay. I mean. She had done enough. More than enough. She has her own life that she has to worry about and i have mine. I can’t keep on depending on her. After a while, here i am. Living on my own. I don’t want to burden her anymore.”
Yoona was smiling but that smile is creepy. Hyukjae don’t like it so much. He diverts his eyes to the sink. I’m a burden? Should i do just like she did?
”I mean you never know what is going to happen. What if someday, the person that killed your dad escape or release from jail. Don’t you think they’re going find you? Don’t you think they are going to hurt Donghae and his friends?”
Again, Hyukjae was speechless. He never thought of those possibilities. Their conversation was cut short when Donghae appear in the kitchen. “Something smell so nice. I’m starving.” Hyukjae look at Donghae. Is he willing to make Donghae get hurt? What if what Yoona said comes true? It’s going to be his fault.
“What is the matter, Hyukkie? Are you okay? You look pale.” Donghae strokes shis cheek. “Hyukkie????” Hyukjae just stand there. “You two, the food is going to get cold. Donghae-yah..i have to go back too. Hurry.”
“Come, lets eat first and we’re going to talk later.” Donghae pull hyukjae to the dining table. Dinner was quiet for Hyukjae. Donghae keep on glancing on the boy. Examining him. Hyukjae never be that quiet before. What make Donghae really worried is that Hyukjae is acting like when they first met. Donghae’s hand went under the table and grab Hyukjae’s. He holds on it firmly. Hyukjae look at him back. Try to figure out what is he going to do. He too, holding on to Donghae’s hand.
After dinner, yoona request for Donghae to send her home. Hyukjae look at her. Why is she telling me all this?? Did Donghae told her about that? He never asks Donghae’s opinion about him staying for so long. He didn’t realize they already arrive at Yoona’e place. Yoona look back at her and smile. This time it is a sweet smile. “Good talking to you Hyuk. You take care, okay?” She wave at him.
Donghae signal him to sit at front. The drive was quiet again. Hyukjae keep on looking out the window. Last thing that Donghae thought of is to bring Hyukjae to the beach just like he did before. “Why are we here??” Hyukjae ask.
Groaning, Donghae answer him. “Finally.. i thought i’m invincible or something. Are you ignoring me?” Hyukjae shakes his head. “i prefer your voice that your action. Let’s just relax for a while.” the truth is Donghae too need a break. He was so stress about work. About his coming operation. He wants to tell Hyukjae about it but seeing Hyukjae is acting weird, he decided to keep in to himself. He walks to the beach followed by Hyukjae and the two of them lay side by side looking at the stars.
“Donghae-shi…” Hyukjae turn to his side, facing Donghae and Donghae look back. “Am i a burden?” he ask. Donghae sigh. “She’s talking about herself, Hyukkie. She’s not talking about you. and no..You’re not a burden at all. If Sungmin hyung and Kyu knows you think that way..they will be sad.” Hyukjae nod his head.
“Did you???” Donghae look at him straight in the eyes. “I heard everything. You have to remember she’s talking about her life, not yours. Beside…” Donghae look up again. “I want you to be by my side. Let’s just stay that way.”
“And about me getting hurt. I think you forget what my job is. I will be fine. We all going to be fine. Don’t worry, okay?” Donghae look back at hyukjae and kiss his forehead. Just like what Kyuhyun did to make Sungmin feel better.
“Donghae-shi.. you like Yoona-shi?” he ask again. “She’s a friend.” Donghae reply him and cares his cheeks. That feels so warm. Hyukjae hearts starts to race. He remembers what he and Sungmin talk about that morning. Form Donghae eyes, his eyes wonder to Donghae’s lips.
“Donghae-shi…can you come closer??” confused Donghae, he did what he told him. Their face become more closer than before. Hyukjae take the initiative and land his lips on Donghae’s. They stay like that for a while. Shock Donghae just freezes. He always wants to do that to Hyukjae, but he’s afraid that the boy takes it wrongly.
When it feels like forever, Hyukjae pull back with a scarlet face. He touches his chest. He feels like his ribs are going to burst in any moment. “Hyukkie???” the boy look up meeting with Donghae’s confused eyes. Hyukjae takes Donghae’s hand and put it on his chest. “You’re the only one who make me like this.” feeling the racing heart from Hyukjae’s chest, Donghae smile.
He finally knows what the younger is telling him. Donghae take Hyukjae’s hand and put it on his chest. “You’re the only one who can make me like this.” He said.
“It’s the same. Your heart beats so fast.” Hyukjae said with amazement. Donghae kiss the boy again. Lips moving on Hyukjae’s, no tongue just lips against lips. His hand moves up to cup the boy’s face. Hyukjae take a grip on Donghae’s shoulder. Donghae keep on kiss him and Hyukjae start to feel something weird in his tummy. Is that what Sungmin says Butterflies in his stomache? His hands encircle Donghae’s neck. He feels complete. He feels like this is what he wants. This is enough for him.
His eyes are still close without realizing Donghae has done kissing him. Donghae cares his cheeks lovingly. “I should do that sooner if i know you enjoy it that much.” Donghae chuckles wake him up. He tries to avoid Donghae’s eyes earning more chuckles from Donghae. Quickly, Donghae gives another peck on him lips. “I love you, Hyukkie..”
“You love me? As what Donghae-shi? Sungmin hyung said…” Donghae silent him again by kissing him. “You’re my everything. You’re the one for me.”
“Is that mea n you love me as someone special? Just like sungmin hyung and kyuhyun hyung?” smiling at him, Donghae kiss him again. Hyukjae didn’t let go of him either. “Even better than them.” A peck land on his lips again.
“Me, too.” Hyukjae said with a blush. “You too what?” Donghae tease him. Hyukjae pouts. “You too what, hyukkie?” Donghae kiss his pout away. Hyukjae buried his face on Donghae’s chest. “I think I love you….as someone special.” The word comes as a mumbles because of Donghae’s clothes but Donghae can hear him clearly. He hugs the boy tight. The warm from Hyukjae make him satisfied.
“I can’t wait to tell Sungmin and Kyuhyun about this.” then Donghae remember Siwon. Kyu told him Siwon is currently courting Hyukjae. “Hyukkie, about siwon. Do you like him?” a nod from Hyukjae. Donghae sigh. He wants to let go. Maybe he let his hope high too fast. “I like him as my friend. Like Donghae-shi and Yoona-shi.” Hyukjae added.
“You’re not falling for him, right?” Donghae ask again. He still feel worried. He can feel Hyukjae shakes his head. Donghae pull away slightly and cup his face again. Shy Hyukjae purposely close his eyes. “Look at me, Hyukkie.” Donghae kiss his eyes lovingly. “Baby, open your eyes.” He cooed again.
Hyukjae open his eyes and immediately drown in Donghae’s captivating orbs. Donghae lean in again, claiming Hyukjae’s lips. “Donghae-shi…what if people see us…” hyukjae said pushing Donghae’s chest away from him. “Let them so they know you only belong to me. And i belong to you.”
The breeze from the ocean makes Hyukjae shiver. He tightens his hold on Donghae. They fit for each other. “Donghae-shi.. It’s freezing.. Let’s go home.” He said. Donghae nods. They walk together hand in hand to the car. Donghae open the door for Hyukjae. Before hyukjae get in, he turns to face Donghae. “Can you please kiss me again?”
Hyukjae don’t have to tell him twice. Donghae kiss him again. Then Hyukjae feel his heart and put his ear on Donghae’s chest. “It still beats so fast. I just want to make sure.” He said smiling happily to Donghae. Donghae kiss him again before retreating to his side and drive home.
