Birthday Season

It's time for my annual Greed post!

I'm 49 this year, so I'm not going out of my way to celebrate in 2023 BUT next year watch out for a ridiculous blow out.

I'm helping throw my S.O. a nice birthday party this Sunday; check your emails and if you didn't get an invite, email or text me.

So what do we want?

Cash is still king. We have had various interruptions to our cash flow this year and we're trying to buy the house in a few months. Cash also means useful gift cards. For me that's Jackman's Fabrics, QT, St. Louis Bubble Tea (and similar), and even Dollar Tree. For him, that's gaming stores, almost any restaurant, coffee places, or donut havens. For either of us, Hardware stores, groceries, gas, Target, etc.

For my S.O.:

  1. Old-style video game consoles. Nothing with internet capability, please. Bonus if you have some games to go with them. For Xmas, I'm hoping to be able to let everyone know what consoles he has so you could get him a game he doesn't have!
  2. He likes Gin & Tonics and martinis, and we have tonic water and vermouth, but no gin in the house. Find a nice bottle of Gin for him. Or several small bottles of gin. Unusual tonic waters are also nifty.
  3. He can always eat. He loves food, and I have severe restrictions in play. Offer to take him to dinner at some restaurant, invite him over for spaghetti or taco night, etc. He loves chocolate but I've quit buying it regularly.

  1. He loves Magic: the Gathering and has gotten back into it. Card packs, booster packs, etc make good gifts, but if you really want to make him happy, whip out a deck and challenge him. He's loads of fun to play with!
  2. Silly graphic t-shirts. Most of his shirts have gotten worn through, so any geeky or silly printed t-shirts are going to be a big hit. He's wearing about a 2X these days, though the 1X might fit if it's a generous cut.

For me:

  1. Silly socks. This is the first time I've put this on my list, but I really do need to update the sock wardrobe. Sock Dreams has some awesome things, but feel free to cruise Target's hosiery for interesting options. Bonus if the silly socks are actually natural fibers.
  2. A Bottle in Front of me: I'm a nut for Absinthe, and I think I'm running low on the other licorice flavored liqueurs too. (Sambuca, Jaegermeister, Uzo, etc.) I would love some Sloe Gin, too. Also any weird flavored stuff, just no Vodka, Tequila, or Everclear, please.
  3. Doll Stuff: If you're not in the know, don't worry about this. However, my Dolly friends know what I have and what size they are. I really need new shoes due to that issue with the vinyl disintegrating. I need MSD and SD sized shoes in a variety of styles and colors.
  4. Steubenville Woodfield: this is the brand of dishes I'm currently obsessed with. I need a Teapot. I have lots of cups and saucers and snack plates, but cream/sugar set, serving platters, and plain plates would be great additions. All colors are welcome but the coral/pink is my least favorite. (So please don't give me a pink teapot.) These appear on Ebay regularly and if you find any in antique malls around town *tell me*! Information makes a great free gift!
