Enchantment under the sea
I'm gearing up for Conflation this weekend. Here are my plans and wacky last minute ideas!
I'm going to knock out some more masks, but specifically in my "adult Large" size. I'm going to use my undersea print cottons, but I'm also going to make some in fancy fabrics like lace, sequins, and the like.
I'm also bringing my cards. I could use a little bit of cash flow, so I'll set up somewhere to read tarot.
Captain Hook: The dark and sinister man is back! It took me a while to put it together, though it is a "More-ish" costume, I suspect. I have a mustachioed mask I can wear, but I'm going to try to embroider a new one before this weekend.
Ursula: get you a cutie who can be both! I haven't done any additional work on this one, but I think it will still play. It's simple and elegant. I have some new wigs to style up for it.
Not-so-little Mermaid: I do have that fantastic fishtail skirt, and the barely legal mesh top with the purple seashells. Though I might offer this to a specific friend, if it fits her. I just think it would be hilarious to play Captain Hook, Ursula, and Ariel alt the same con, and get away with it.
Grande Damme Sea Siren: I'm looking forward to doing this most likely on Saturday night. I have options, which means I can share costumes with others, if you want in on this action.
And then there's The Weird Stuff:
*Angler Fish. And I don't mean in an elegant fashion runway inspiration way, either. Like, creepy deep deep sea 'mermaid' with an LED dangling in front of my face.
*Jellyfish: I pulled those costumes out of deep storage. I might wear one, if my friend doesn't want to.
*Davy Jones. I just figured out that I have a relatively easy way to casual-costume this one. My S.O. says he can't fit in the coat anymore, but I bet I can...
Plus it would be fun to cross it with Zoidberg.
