[This was something Luke had prepared himself for ever since he used his power against Vanitas to destroy the χ-blade. He knew people would be curious; Sanji had asked him questions about it, and Luke had mostly dodged the personal ones. And he hadn't even see the power until he bore witness to it.
Still, Luke wasn't planning on telling anyone. That is, until he had enough strength to look up after the battle, after the explosion from the sword had destroyed some of the buildings and after Luke had collapsed to his knees.
When he looked Xion straight in the eyes.
Ever since then, Luke had prepared for the moment he'd tell her all about this terrible power of his, why it was terrible, why he'd cut his hair... all of it. He liked to think that he'd prepared for her reaction, too... He was already expecting her to recoil and be afraid of him, even enough to end their relationship

[ At the time... at the time, Xion hadn't been sure what to think. Of course she'd been a little alarmed when Luke fell to his knees, a bizarre mix of awed and grateful and startled and maybe even a tiny bit worried when he'd been able to break the χ-blade at all.
When she'd looked in this eyes ... she'd wondered, honestly, just what kind of power he was capable of.
But at the time.... Luke had been visibly, physically okay, and Ven had been much more important. So she'd run off pretty promptly to go see if her friend was okay and that had been the end of the issue. It wasn't the first time Xion had seen an explosive power heretofore unknown from someone she cared about; she'd not had any idea what Sanji was capable of, after all, until he nearly split her skull open with a single kick. She had no idea how powerful Roxas had become until he was trying to kill her for the second time. She herself had her portals, but so far only on the battlefields of the draft.
So truly, it hadn't occurred to her as that strange... an incredible

[For a second or two Luke didn't respond to the hug she gave him, merely out of surprise. He had one last thing to tell her, and obviously it wasn't anything good, so how...
But then he realized that, depending on how this conversation went, this might just be the last time they truly held each other. That made Luke purse his lips, and he reached up to return her embrace and lean his head against hers while he stared down at the floor. He... He loved Xion so much, enough to want to stay in Luceti for as long as she was here, so why was he risking it all? For a moment Luke toyed with the thought of just saying some throwaway secret and leaving this buried inside him forever; it'd certainly make everything easier and insure that he wouldn't lose this wonderful thing he has...
That idea, however, crumbles once she steps back and smiles at him. ... Idiot... He's such an idiot for even considering the idea. Xion deserved to know what kind of person he used to be, what kind of person he could be, and what kind of person he is today

[It was hard to ignore the destruction dealt to the village over the past couple of days. But it was doubly hard to ignore the injured...and the deceased. Miyabi had little time to pray for those poor souls, however, when she learned of Luke's condition. The fact that he was even in the battle alone terrified her. From the looks of the village, the sounds from afar...it sounded terrible. What kind of thing could cause all that?
She didn't bother with the Mallet, just leapt onto the back of the nearest bird and ordered it to take her to the clinic, as fast as it could. She kept herself from falling aprt but mumbling that he'd be okay over and over under her breath, but as her crept into his room, hopping her way over and onto his bed, she couldn't help but gasp, and her voice cracked as she spoke his name.]

[The battle was grueling for everyone. Luke might have been one of the unlucky ones, but he was, at least, lucky to some of the residents. A few even lost their lives.
That still doesn't stop him from feeling absolutely miserable and very sorry for himself.
He lay on his back with his eyes closed, bandages almost all over his body to cover the large amount of gashes, and his left arm in a protective splint. It was one of the few times Xion hadn't been by his side, probably to let him sleep.
Now, though, the voice makes him open his eyes and glance to see who was there. At first, he couldn't see anyone... but the glow clued him in as to who was there.]
Hey, Miyabi. [He tries to smile, but it's a half smile. The gash on his jawbone makes it rather difficult to smile without it stinging like hell.]

[Miyabi covered her mouth when she saw just how badly Luke was hurt, tears welling up into her eyes. She crawled over and onto his pillow, so he wouldn't move much, and wiped furiously at her eyes, but it was little use. She was crying, but trying to be quiet about it. Luke, you idiot...you stupid, stupid, idiot. She's so glad you're alive.]
D-Don't...speak so much! Oh, Luke, what happened to you?! You...you i-i-idiot! [She sniffles, flopping onto her knees on the pillow, near his uninjured cheek.] D-Does it still...h-hurt? Y-You'll b-be okay ...r-r-right? You better be okay! I'll kill you!
[Why'd he have to get hurt? And so badly? Why? Why did it have to be one of her big brothers? Luke didn't deserve to get hurt like this. No one did, yes, but it hurt more when it was someone she was so close to.]

[First she tells him not to speak, then she starts asking him questions. Luke is a little too drugged to really make sense of that, so he squints slightly at her in frustration before he shuts his eyes and lets out a sigh. He at least got the "I'll kill you" bit.]

[Well this was the day they had agreed prior to that monster outbreak, (shhh) so after getting all his usual camping gear ready, Sokka was waiting by the river in the canoe. The trick to being a good camper was of course taking only the essentials and practical to carry. So he had a sleeping bag, a tarp, canvas for a tent, a change of clothes, and his usual hunting gear. He brought some extra food in case the hunting was bad, but he figured they wouldn't need it.
While sitting against the boat, currently grounded, he started to think that maybe digital watches really were a good idea and that maybe he should get one.]

[It was a little weird, actually going camping with someone instead of going by himself. He told himself that it was just like back at home, when he and his friends would have to camp out for the night while they were traveling from city to city, but this was... different, somehow. For one, there would be no monsters to watch out for. And the other... well, he still didn't know Sokka all that well, despite liking him as a friend.
Not to mention the fact that Luke had no idea what he was doing. Everyone else usually did most of the work despite him wanting to help.
But still, he brought along a few things as well in a pack. A sleeping bag, some canned goods as well as an actual can opener this time, a change of clothes, and at the last minute, he had packed a first-aid kit as well. Who knew how he'd screw up this time, after all? His sword was strapped at his back, as usual, and it was with all that that Luke headed out, soon spotting Sokka by the river they had agreed to meet by.]

[ As if on cue.... there is another tell-tale whoosh behind her of Heartless appearing. Her eyes go a little wide, and she whips around again...
This time, they are all on the grass, leaving Luke and Xion backed up against the edge of the cliff. And there are more. There are a lot more. Not quite a thousand, but ... a sizable mob.

[ Instead of immediately following him, Xion instead holds the back line and shouts out a few spells. Her biggest ones -- mostly -ga level spells, and a few spells that lay magical mines here and there. It's a lot of pyrotechnics flying about, fire and lightning and ice, but eventually she follows it up physically. ]
Jeez, how many of these things -- are there? [ She cuts through another and yells a Stop spell at one that was an instant away from landing on her face, then bats it out of the air. It feels like there's no end, though she knows their numbers have to be thinning... ]

Way too many!
[Luke himself is a very physical fighter, so he's pretty deep within the horde of Heartless. Still, his actions can plainly be seen: Raging Blast sends a whole group of them flying, some vanishing into the air, some crashing into others. Guardian Field hits all the Heartless around him, and though they're weak hits, it should take care of most of the ones that have him surrounded. Swallow Fury sends him speeding to the enemy's backside and high into the air with kicks and strikes of the sword.
After so many hits, and catching a few slices of his own, he feels that he has enough power built up inside him.]
Bring it on! [With those words and clenched fists, a few rings of light made of pure power spring out from him, sending whatever Heartless around him flying several feet, a few even hurtling off the cliff. Luke looks around, glowing, for a clump of enemies. If Xion's having trouble, he'll target the ones near her.]
