Operation Love

So here's the situation: After closing down the Beta our apartment landlord suddenly decided we wouldn't be able to pay rent so we had until the end of the month to get out. TEN DAYS. We weren't sure where to go. 86's mom offered us a place to stay, so we assumed we'd be going there until we could move back to Southern Ohio which was the original plan.

One evening, we decided to hang out with our friend Hoshi (one of many nick-names) and stay for dinner. We instantly clicked with the family. It was just Hoshi, Mommer (her mom), and her Baba (grandma), plus Hoshi's brother. They liked us so much that Mommer offered us the basement to live in. The house was originally built as a duplex, so the basement had its own kitchen, bathroom, and the laundry facility was down there. Hoshi lived down there as well and had her own room. There was a second bedroom for us if we wanted. Rent would be super cheap and we'd also have free wi-fi and access to the laundry. The catch? The basement needed to be cleaned up something fierce. The room was filled from wall to wall with things that needed to be repacked and organized. There was little room on the shelves at the far end of the basement. We ended up moving what we could over to that section, and then we decided that if we organized the third room with all the built-in shelves, we'd be able to clear out the first room. So essentially, in ten days, we cleaned up most of the living room area, the room we're staying in, organized the third room slightly, AND packed all our stuff at the old apartment and moved it over AND cleaned the old apt. top to bottom. Plus we took out about 12 bags of newspaper, and several trash bags.

Well, with lots of determination, and help from a few friends, we conquered this task. 86's uncle also came out and checked out the lawn mower. Once he found out it worked he decided to mow a path. The path turned into about a quarter of the yard being mowed (which is a rather large area!) a bunch of weeds being cleared, and a good amount of plotting for the rest of the house. It's an on-going project that I most certainly will be posting about whenever possible.

Until next time!
