So I'm VERY excited! I'm starting to see more and more how God turns tragic occurances into outrageously great things. As many know, my sister suffered through several major surgeries for a life threatening illness through many years of her childhood. As I'm getting older I'm starting to learn more and more how this affected my parents when they were raising us. I'm coming to realize how hard it was for them to have a chronically ill child and two other healthy ones to put their time and energy into. Not only that, but the stress of the uncertainty and pain that she was going through would be enough to emotionally kill any parent. God bless them for their strength. And as she grew up she had to go through physical therapy and had to deal with the problems that came from how her body was forced to grow (its sad that we make fun of her for it so much, haha). So as molly is graduating from the college of nursing in december, she invited the doctor who took care of her for those 5 years she was in and out of the hospital to the festivities. Well she gets a call back from him saying that not only is he coming, but he's also recommended her for hire to work at Phoenix Children's Hospital (veeeerrrryyy hard to get into bc everyone wants it) and that he's also nominated her for this award called "Against All Odds" and some tv station is going to profile her life. So very exciting news for a very dull day. It's just amazing that she and my parents went through it all and never expected any recognition and probably often doubted God's intentions, but here's the answer to that. If she gets into that hospital shell practically be set for life. This also really reminds me of Ashley Tang. She really had a tragic childhood and her whole life she worked hard to make her situation better. But you would never know it; she never asked for special treatment, never expected her reward to be a physical one. But last year she gets landed with a spot on Good Morning America and a trip to the Oscar's.
So with that the longer i live, the more i see that it's crap that people get so angry with God for the things that happen to them. If you look hard enough you'll see that God really does take the tragic events we experience and turn them into beautiful occasions, whether it be that He transforms it into a learning experience or physically rewards you for strength and endurance. And if for some reason it's not easy to see what He's doing immediately, patience and love will reveal it with time.
