Dororo
Just saw the movie Dororo and absolutely love it! Knew nothing about this story before I watched it then found out it was a manga by the same man who did Astro Boy...am not a fan of Astro Boy though. But am now a fan of Satoshi Tsumabuki ^___^
Anyways, movie was about a man who made a deal with some demons that in exchange for ruling the world he would give them 48 body parts of his first born son's body. Very weird. So yeah, kid was born with just a head and body with no limbs or eyes or ears or anything. Reminded me of a snow man you know with only 2 pieces. And he gets dumped in a river and another man picks him up and happens to be a wizard of some sort who creates him a body and eyes and all that but of course he can't see or hear but fights really well and his arms are detachable to reveal 2 swords. Really reminds me of Astro Boy.
When kid grows up he is told that to get his body back he needs to kill the 48 demons and each part will be returned to him. So off he goes and does some demon killing. Meets chick who acts like a boy...would have really preferred a boy here. Am a yaoi fan.
The main guy, Hyakki-Maru is played by Satoshi Tsumabuki who apparently was popular in Water Boys...but I never watched that so wouldn't know. But man, did he look good...the hair, the face, the outfit, everything. I think he is the reason I love this movie so much.
