(no subject)
I found myself away from LJ yesterday, as has frequently been the case lately, so I need to acknowledge one of the Initiates before I do anything else. Some of you know that Daddy has been involved as a Volunteer Firefighter for some years, and despite various things that don't allow him to be as active as he once was, one can still find him out on the highways of Effingham County, GA directing traffic, manning the truck, and occasionally still doing the driving when his help is needed. Anyway, this Initiate helped remind me just the Service my father and others like him were doing for their community, both through real-life occurrences and, yes, through writing... Yes, my dad still occasionally asks after your wellbeing... Being away, this is a little late, but I hope yesterday went well for you, sweetie...

In other news, I am way beyond getting in my bad sleep habits. If any of you that know where I can be found in those early hours that only Lestat, Jean-Claude, and others of that ilk seem to like best happens to see me there after 3 (8GMT, 2CT, 10PM in far,far away), would you please do me the favor of telling me to get my arse to bed? Do not ask me to promise... it's the one promise I tend to break. Some of y'all know that to be true, unfortunately, so I might as well not even attempt it. *blush* I need to learn to wind down more quickly after work. That's all there is to it. Thanks, guys.
Currently wondering over the plural of the word Schweinhund. No, it won't be appearing in a fic near you, at least not from me, but I have a similar niggling reason. I'll email Nuri and ask her, I suppose. Don't know the correct article for it, either, but don't want to bug those who know best just because an old word popped into my head. *giggles*
Oh, my. Wizard of Oz ramblings, too. Trust me, you DON'T want to spend the day in this brain, such as it is. Off to work... only three hours of meetings that I'm aware of. Life is Good!
