...In This Ever Changing World in Which we Live In...

Apr 16, 2013 19:12

I understand it now.  More than I ever did I think I understand the High Lord's desire to hunker down and not leave his rooms for 10 years.* Lately it seems that I have no desire to leave my house if I can avoid it.  I find it preferable to just stay home.  The more I see on the news, the more I want to just keep my door closed.  To date I have lived through three terrorist attacks on US soil that I can think of.  (What is really sad is that I have to add "that I can think of.)
  1. Yesterday's Boston Marathon
  2. 9/11 (Keep in mind I was enlisted when that happened...)
  3. Oklahoma City Bombings
Keep in mind that this is only on American soil, and I am not including things such as the London bus bombings, and other atrocities in other countries.  Some of these atrocities were by foreigners, others were domestic.  And these are only the nationwide terrorist activities.  This does not include other acts of idiocy such as the Westboro Baptist Church and their shenanigans.

Right now, I have access to the world, but the world does not have access to me, and I'm okay with that.
