Maybe it's because I'm turning 25 this year, but I've been feeling increasingly frustrated with my job situation. I was entertaining the thought of going to culinary school, but I think that ultimately getting the return on the financial investment is too big a risk. I've been doing research into in-demand careers that pay reasonably well, and so far the one that appeals to me is being a radiologic technologist. I'd walk away from any accredited program with my associates in science, which would mean two and a half to three years of school including prerequisites. The average salary is around 50,000 and tops out around 70,000. It's a job that would use my brain, make me feel like I'm helping people and would give me some financial security. It's also a skill that would allow me to live wherever I wanted.
What amuses me about this idea is that about eight years ago my dad was nudging me to go into this field- he thought it would be a good fit for me and I thought he was totally nuts. Maybe daddy really does know best?
Bonus: There are reputable programs in San Francisco, Portland and San Diego.....
