More to keep myself organized, I've compiled my reactions to all of the new shows I tried out this week. (I really do love premiere week and the sense of possibility it brings with it :)) I'm keeping it general and spoiler-free, but I thought I'd throw it under a cut anyway.
I only have four essential opinions on shows (at least after the first episode):
- OMG - fandom here I come
- Yay! A new show - but I doubt I'll be writing fic any time soon
- Hrmmm... I suppose I'll keep watching long enough to form a better opinion
- Nope, not for me.
Chuck - It was cute, and the action sequence was pretty good. I think in a year where I wasn't already watching so many shows, I'd be more likely to jump all over this one, but as it is, it just didn't stand out for me.
Verdict:
Hrmmm... I suppose I'll keep watching long enough to form a better opinion
Gossip Girl - My new guilty pleasure show - I never watched the OC, but I am absolutely falling for this. For me it's been a great, thoughtless teen show with decent music and pretty people.
Verdict :
Yay! A new show - but I doubt I'll be writing fic any time soon
Moonlight - Again, I never watched Angel, so I'm not going in to this comparing it to anything, but it was fine. Unfortunately, that's all it was, fine. Meh.
Verdict:
Nope, not for me
Reaper - Hee. Cute. I liked this. Clearly filmed in Canada (mostly obvious because of the Canadian Tire they obviously shot in and the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver they walked by). It has an interesting premise and a fun quirky cast.
Verdict :
Yay! A new show - but I doubt I'll be writing fic any time soon
Dirty Sexy Money - Beyond the horrible name, this show has definite potential for me. Interesting characters, the lovely Peter Krause, good writing - I will be watching diligently if the pilot was any indication.
Verdict :
OMG - fandom here I come
Big Shots - So I went in thinking I was going to hate it but required to watch for dear Joshua Malina and Michael Vartan. I didn't hate it and will continue to watch (though admittedly mostly just for Joshua Malina and Michael Vartan). We'll see if I get to the point where that's no longer enough to get me to tune in.
Verdict:
Hrmmm... I suppose I'll keep watching long enough to form a better opinion
The Big Bang Theory - Randomly came across this and decided to give it a try. It was painful beyond words. I couldn't even make it an entire episode (particularly sad for a half hour show). Save yourselves the agony.
Verdict:
Nope, not for me
Yet to see:
No plans to try:
- Bionic Woman
- Life
- Private Practice
- Cane
- K-Ville
- Samantha-Who?
- Journeyman
- Kid Nation
- Women's Murder Club
Any comments as to great shows I've given an unfair shake to or shows I missed trying completely?
