1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
1)If you could spend the day with any TV star who would it be and what would you do?
I'd probably want to hang out with Jon Stewart. I think sitting in on a writer's meeting at The Daily Show would be entertaining and engaging.
2)What's the best dream you ever had?
I don't really remember my dreams all that well. My favourite vague dreamy memories are ones where I know I'm dreaming and can make things change. I think it's incredibly fun to change the world around you on a whim. It's like being a witch or a TV executive.
3)What is your biggest fear?
Failing. Just messing things up hopelessly and beyond repair and disappointing the people around me who seem to think I'm better than I really am.
4)What music do you most like to listen to when you want to brighten your mood?
Jason Mraz. He has so many fun, upbeat songs with witty lyrics and catchy tunes and they never fail to make my day a little brighter.
5)if you could take a vacation anywhere and money was no object, where would you go and what would you do?
I would probably go to Europe. Do the whole post-university travel with friends thing, except stay at real hotels. I'd want to see England and Ireland, get to Spain, Italy and maybe France.. I don't know - it would be nice to head over without a super clear plan and just... go.
1* poetry, yay or nay?
In general, nay. There's just so much crap out there. That's not to say there aren't poems that I just adore. Way back in the day on X-Files there was an episode called 'The Field Where I Died" that started with an excerpt from Robert Browning's poem Paracelsus. That was the piece that convinced me that poetry could be just as great at telling a story and conveying emotion as prose can be.
2* if you could have a meal with any musician, who would it be, what meal would you have and what songs would you ask them to play?
Kinda related to my answer to one of Mai's questions, I would say Jason Mraz. Every time I've seen him interviewed (and the time i saw him in Concert) he has been incredibly well spoken and hilarious. That's my ideal dinner companion I would think. I'd probably have something boring for dinner like pasta. Something I can cook anyway... And for songs, I'd go with Mr. Curiosity, Plane (and to pick up the pace a little), O.Lover or Please Don't Tell Her.
3* what attracted you to your current top OTP?
My current top OTP is probably Rory/Jess because I feel like I actually get them and am at a point where I find writing about them extremely interesting. What initially attracted me was probably some combination of identifying with Rory on some level (and thus being interested in her romantic storylines). What actually kept me interested was the chemistry. I love that they've never quite fit. They're both incredibly flawed and the contrast between the flaws in Jess that the world is so ready to point out and the equally destructive flaws in Rory that everyone (including she) seem so ready to ignore is really fascinating to me. They're destined to be connected in some way for their whole lives, and watching that play out over 6 years and across huge gaps in time and distance is pretty unique for a TV couple. That was probably incoherent, but it's all I've got right now. :)
4* do you have a vivd recollection of a moment in your childhood, if so, what is it?
Hmm. I very clearly remember being rushed to the hospital from my daycare when I was about 4 or 5. I fell off a bench and cracked my chin open pretty badly (which luckily I don't remember at all), but I do recall looking up at my teacher sitting over me in the back seat of a car as they drove me to emergency. I don't remember getting the stitches or anything painful, but I don know that when my dad brought me home after he gave me a purple popsicle because apparently I was pretty good about the whole thing. Purple popsicles are a pretty big deal for me.
5* Tough question, the Winchesters or the Petrellis?
Ooh. Nasty tough question! I'm going to go Winchesters and here's why: The backstory really intrigues me. The idea of growing up in a family that faced those kind of horrors on purpose is really strange and fascinating. I also have to say that while both families definitely have the pretty going on, the Winchesters are better with the snark.
