The best nest

We put in an offer on a house over the weekend and it was accepted today. I'm pretty stoked. The house is quirky, but it is large and in the (fairly limited) area we wanted. The inspection is on Thursday, and assuming everything goes well, we'll be closing near the end of July. House hunting/buying is a very bursty activity, with nothing going on for a while and then we saw three houses in two days and made an offer on one of them. Now we're hitting another burst of activity as we get everything lined up for closing, but once we get the ball rolling on things like our loan, we mostly just wait for the closing date. Which is a good thing over all since July is going to be crazy busy as it is. I just hope everything goes well--going back to round one of house hunting would be hard to swallow at this point.

It's weird because I don't feel like I have much to say about the house itself. It is a bit of a fixer-upper, which we swore we wouldn't buy again, but it mostly needs cosmetic fixes and I can already see ways to improve it that we won't need to do before moving in, or possibly ever. Though a second bathroom sure would be nice, and it would improve the value of the house as well, plus there is just the perfect place for it...The reason why we shouldn't buy a fixer-upper, is not that I don't enjoy thinking about, planning and starting projects. It's just my follow through that is a little lacking. (What is your secret akjdg?)
