So be Donald Trump, or be an anarchist ....

7:47 PM, Alex

It was commencing darkness as we merged onto the superway.

“Actually, we call it a highway here,” informed Jonathan, and the term manufactured very little sense to me; but it is unwise to spleen a person or cause them to make shit of a brick if he is the driver of the car you are in, and especially unwise ( Read more... )

Still putting off reading your stuff until I can give you my usual knock-'em-dead reviews. Which probably won't happen until I read the book.

But I had to comment and let you know that when I'm writing, I completely act out facial expressions without realizing it. Hehehe...

Hey, you wouldn't happen to have a full audio version of the book, would you? *hopeful*

Yay, reviews :D

When I'm animating, too ... someone will say, "What's wrong? You look completely disgusted at nothing!"

That might take years and years to upload, but I'll put a few of my favorite snippets in my next post XD Nothing too spoiler-y, cuz the plot's way different.

Whee, snippets! Oh, and guess what, guess what? I went out and bought both the book and the movie a couple hours ago. WOOHOO! Go me!

... YAY! X3
If you don't mind my asking, how'd you come across the movie in the first place? Did you see it when it was out in theatres?

I saw the previews and meant to watch it, because it looked really interesting and had Elijah Wood, plus I'm a Liev Schrieber fan, but, as happens with so many things, I never got to it until it was out of theaters and on DVD.

...that's a really long sentence.

You're a Liev Schrieber fan? Pre- or post-Scream? XD
I remember seeing posters for it, but I never went to see it ... also, Jonathan Safran Foer came to a Borders in our town and read excerpts. I had no idea about the book at the time. I looked at newspaper article that talked about it and thought, "Whozzat?" REGRETFUL.

I didn't see him in Scream until after I knew who he was. I think the first thing I saw him in was Kate and Leopold. *blushes* I immediately thought he was awesome, though. He's just got such a unique face - it really stuck in my mind.

Oh wow. That kind of thing happens all the time, doesn't it? And it never sucks any less. So you didn't even get to go hear him? Awww... *hugs*

Hehe, I need to see that movie, then.

I hope he does a tour for his second novel ...

Meh, you don't need to. I mean it's entertaining, but not stellar. Typical Meg Ryan romantic comedy. Liev's character is adorable, though. In a really pathetic nobody-listens-to-him kind of way.

Second novel? Exciting! What's it going to be?

He seems like an interesting person of the creative sort, so I dunno ... it seems worth it to check out. And if he's adorable, I can't resist that XD

He's already written it, and I've already devoured it. "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close," probably the only 9/11 story that doesn't ... suck, because everything Jonathan Foer touches turns to literary gold, and also because the World Trade Center wasn't the only thing the story was about -- it centers on the main character's [Oskar Schell] relationship with his father, and the story of Oskar's grandfather, Thomas Schell, during the Dresden Bombings and his life after it. Despite this, at times it's almost more hilarious than Illuminated, and I think I just beat you at obnoxiously-long-sentence-writing.
