No hope
It just hit me how bad this was....
The Republicans can now filibuster anything they want. They're going to block Obama from doing anything so they can say that he did nothing during his presidency. They'll get back in to power and we'll end up in more useless wars. The economy is not going to get better. My friends will probably not be able to get jobs. I will probably not get into graduate school.
It's over. America is too stupid to recover. The rich are just going to get richer and the poor are going to continue on without basic medical coverage, jobs, security... They're going to lose their houses.
It's not because of what just happened or because one guy won an election. It's because of what's going to happen. This is just how human nature is. People will not educate themselves or look towards larger issues. They'll vote based on fear and only unprincipled people run campaigns based on fear. That means only unprincipled people will gain major office.
I feel very numb right now.
